I have never seen this one before. Loved the movie and the Sheriff's moral uprightness. He was a bit too lenient for me, which caused him a lot of grief in the long run, but definitely a man of conviction. Also loved the fact that he reloaded his gun. If I'm watching a western and the cowboy shoots his six shooters over six times without reloading, it ruins the whole movie for me and shut it off. Thought Dan Duryea did a good job. But not as good as he did in "Ride Clear of Diablo".

Tony Young, "Taggart". Enjoyed that one as a kid. Anyone can tell me why we don't see 'Six Black Horses' with Audie Murphy and Dan Duryea? We can see their 'Ride Clear of Diablo' movie. They made a third western together, which starred James Stewart, 'Night Train' or something like that. Enjoying this one, which I've seen a couple times before, in my youth.

Tony Young seemed ideal for a bankable Western hero.....but his good looks and sexy voice could not compensate for his complete lack of screen presence. Dan Duryea, though, lacked the looks and had an unattractive voice, but he was invariably a scene-stealer even when allocated a minor role in both TV series episodes and films.

I don’t believe that I’m going to watch this movie. I don’t like the way it starts out with a smart mouth talking kid with a toothpick hanging out of his mouth. His acting was a bit too obvious.😅And then Dan Durea entering the stable and inquiring in a friendly voice if anyone could shoe his horse 🐴 and Tony ignored him until he recognized who he was. It appears that it’s going to be filled with a lot of unpleasant people and I’ve got better things to do than to waste my time spending it with people I don’t like. 😬😬😬👎👎👎

Hate hollywood movies that make the gun the Villain. Take a good movie and at the last moment make a political statement. Why not kiss his gun, do a couple fancy gun flips, then slowly put back in the holster. Strut over, pause, kick him in the teeth to make sure he's dead, get on your horse and ride off into the night. The End. Oh! No ......the big bad gun made him kill. So why then did he thank the doc? It was the docs fault for not doing what he was told. Some people just need killing. No need to get emotional about it.

Tony Young was under contract with Universal and made a few B westerns. I remember being in a movie house way back in the day, having to endure a Young western on the bottom bill of a double feature. A Universal western, no less. It was cheaply made and generally hideous. A woman seated close by rolled her eyes everytime Young appeared in a scene. What rubbish! Young, especially, was a terrible actor. He faded quickly! ♐
