"THE RETURN OF JACK SLADE" Storyline - Jack Slade, son of a famed lawman and man-hunter, is hired by a Pinkerton detective, Joseph Ryan, to help wipe out a gang of outlaws and train robbers, Billy Wilcox, Harry Sutton and Little Blue Raven, and their women, Texas Rose, Polly Logan and Laughing Sam. Slade gets off to a slow beginning when his gun is taken away from him by Texas Rose during a train robbery. Learning from Ryan the location of the gang's hideout, Slade leaves his pal Johnny Turner behind and joins the gang as a wanted outlaw. Turner, looking for Slade, is shot down by Sutton, and Slade vows revenge and, with Ryan's help, sets a trap for the gang.

I really LOVE old Westerns! They could really write great Characters in some of them and there are some great characters in this one too. But I sure can't stand bad writing! So many Stupid endings made up just to end a scene or the movie or to get from one plot point to another. That's what separates so many really great old movies from the "B" ones. I won't spoil the movie for anyone but the way they handle the last train robbery is just plain LAZY writing. But thank you for the movies!

All the women were gorgeous but it's the film that carries interest to a movie buff. All the cowboys are recognisable as 'B' movie westerns. There's not one star. Jack Slade looks and acts like James Dean. Pity he wasn't in more films. It's a good story.
