Ralston's generally ok as emergency backup as long as there's not loads of other changes, and no harm in that. Can't all be megastars. Having Welsh alongside him and Forrest not playing his best ahead of him exposed all his weaknesses while at the same time not allowing any of his better qualities to be shown. He still made a superb through ball pass in the lead up to one of the goals, and that's something he showed a lot when he used to do the same for Abada fairly regularly. I agree with the caller that he's 100% effort, but he's a bit better than Welsh, who's just a disaster of a player now after having shown some early promise.

It’s simple. They are both there to fill the Scottish quota in Europe! If they weren’t Scottish they wouldn’t be anywhere near the club. I’ve never ever understood the ralston thing! The boy is utter dug meat.

Ralston is good backup. Excellent crosses and the power he can put into a strike! Welsh is a waste of space. You need to remember ralston is rusty too. Welsh tho - get him sold. Far better scottish centre backs than him

Welsh plays his part, and Certainly is good enough to play for Celtic. Understand when you dont play game in and out you do get rusty. Ralston is certainly good enough, is he a Johnston or Taylor, No he is not. slower but has skills on the ball and reads the plays well. a wee bit rusty as well. I have total confidence in both players, and as time passes so will the quality of their play. What other Scottish defenders that are out there and Celtic ready. I also trust Brendan’s judgements 100%. Rodgers is buying time and resting players as needed in order to try to go the long haul this season. Final 16 in CL is possible if healthy. And both are required for the 8 man count for CL home grown players.

As soon as I saw the headline I knew the subject matters was Ralston 😂😂😂😂😂. Wasn't even sure what team they were talking about but I got it spot on. To be fair it's what Celtic fans have said for ages.
