My sister in law has horses, they fill half gallon milk jugs 1/4 filled with salt and the rest with water and secure.. use 2 to 4 in the stock tanks, floating on top, and it will help keep the ice from forming. A

Hi there. Some years ago I saw on a US sight a little trick to keep the water troughs from freezing. Nearly fill a soda bottle with water and add a large amount of salt, salt water freezes at a lower temperature than fresh water and I guess the amount of salt must effect the temp. In the trough the bottle of salt water won't freeze and it will keep a ring of water around the bottle from freezing. A good short term measure I hope for your cattle. God bless.

Chad check in with Horse plus Humane Society in Tennessee. they have Vets. on staff that do several Donkey Castrations with much care and success. Check them out for maybe help or having Dude Cut SAFELY.

Maybe try balls to prevent the trough from freezing over? "Moving water doesn’t freeze as easily because it moves, and it takes a long time to freeze moving water. Some farmers put floats in their troughs, and cattle can move them to get to the water. Look for special black rubber balls called “cow balls” for your troughs. For smaller water troughs, a basketball or soccer ball will work."

Ok you are breaking ice in the calf/grow out pasture, the crazy thing is we have lakes that people have been out ice fishing on this winter cool . But the month of December we haven’t had freezing temps ! I. Went by two lakes that are right close to my house and they are fully open next t frozen . We have been having temps in the 50/43. It is crazy I live near South central Alaska next week it is supposed to snow but first rain on Friday the 13 then freezing that night snow on Saturday 5 to 8 inches that means dangerous road conditions for sure. But this is supposed to be very very cold daylight by 10:45 am. Dark at 2:15pm. Your tempters are colder than mine early today it is 4:49pm I am late to see you video but we have a time difference we are an hour earlier than California. So I think you are 4 or 5 hours later than us . 😂😂😂 Ok oh wait I love your new tool that is so cool. I could use something like that to hunt ! 😂
