He was proud to sing of it and it took me years to hear the words and understand. Great delivery

This song, along with "Ain't no need in crying" by The Rance Allen Group, are my two most inspirational songs of all time. They may be old, but they still pack a powerful punch when you're down on youself and you need a pick me up to keep going in life. Great post, bankman58, great post.

Oh man. I didn't know gospel group The Murrils sampled this in their song, "Friend of mine". Man, I gotta up on more old school songs, because i think 90% of music out today, is sampled. Thanks for posting!

@LogicLyfe Thanks, LogicLyfe, this is the reason why I play the original music: so you can hear the entire song and hear what has influenced today's musicians.

This song was from the album of the same name released in 1976. It was produced and arranged by Norman Harris who also did the Trammps, and a few other artists, but it has some sort of connection to the Sound Of Philadelphia, but it does have a Philly sound to it.

It is "The Sound Of The Philadelphia", which ruled the 1970s just like "The Sound Of Young America" (Motown) ruled the 1960s.

Illumanati! Now I know why our brother and all their greatness died so soon... Underpaid, Overworked, & Ultimate sacrifice; Great Lives!! but the lyrics and the spirit of their music will never die... Today's music cant hold a candle to the 60's and 70's. The best of times, with the greatest and REAL music. Nobody naked, no indecent act on stage. Clean and Respectful!!! REST IN PEACE "LATE GREATS'
