Hands down worst emperor I've ever seen in a drama. I would recommend this drama but prepare to be angry/sad 80% of the time :/

Like one of the comments, I also thought that nobody but me shipped these two. Glad to know I'm not alone. 🥺 Yunche deserved so much more than that lonely death. He deserves the world tbh. I just tried to make peace with the fact that he was satisfied he had done everything he ever wanted and didn't regret anything before he died. It's a sad, tragic consolation but at least he got sth. In a parallel world it would be nice if Ruyi and Ling Yun Che ends up together like a normal person with children and like a normal family.💛 I remember Ruyi being curious to the western culture of having one wife-she kept on pestering the emperor saying how nice it would be. Afterall, Ruyi never yearns for anything aside from to love, to be love and live a life that is grudge free. This series really touched my heart on a different level. I just finished watching it yesterday and I still can't forget all the tragedy that has happened to Ruyi no it's Qingying now. For she is free.

Being married for twenty years has an element of being deluded as to who your partner is. Everyone keeps saying Ruyi just loved the Emperor so much... She love*d* him, loath*ed* him and finally reminisced about the people they *were*, whilst for the Emperor it was loved, disbelieved, felt bad the first time then used the memory of love that could be dropped any second until he discovered that Wei Yanwan was the ice queen. Then that memory exploded out as 'guilt-love' and remained that way because she died before he could let it lapse. The only time I think it truly hit him was up on the walls where their love began. Ling Yunche was her soulmate, although she refused to acknowledge it, and there was nothing she could do because she belonged to the ruler. It reminds me of Li Yu and Suoxin who also couldn't be together, although she certainly loved Dr Liang more, the former two had a spark.

I don't ship Ruyi and Yunche romantically, rather like Yunche said a relationship beyond that. It feels like a true family where they respect and want to protect each other. Hongli and Qingying are dead to me.

Ugh, this hurts. I stopped reading fanfic ages ago, but I would read the shit out of every Ruyi/Yunche fic that exists out there, doesn't matter if the plot is not romantic, I just want to read AUs where they are both happy and free. Modern AU, Reincarnation AU, I want them all! Meanwhile, I'll keep believing that Ruyi's dream came true in her next life. Thanks for the video, it's so hard to find stuff about them!

Their love was a lot like a mother and children. Maybe he was Ruyi’s son from a past life. The way they look at each other was just like that. Even though you’re in two individual bodies, you’re still a part of each other. I wish she could have the power to adopt Li Yunche, and set him up with one of her family members or one of her maids. That would have been a lovely arrangement.

Sad fact, all the resting places of the 5 Emperors from the Qing Dynasty were looted. In 1928 Soldiers went and pried open there coffins and stole everything they can. For example Qianlong (the one in the show) his coffin and those of this 2 Empresses were looted ( Empress Fuca and Consort Xian (Ruyi) It is said their corpses were thrown out like garbage in the mud of that night. And many other concubines, princesses, coffins were looted.😞 One I know made it was Imperial Noble Consort Ling, (Wei Yingluo from Yanxi Palace). Luckily her tomb wasn’t looted. Sadly Ruyi’s was. Rest In Peace to all.🤍😞

Temper was jealous cuz this man was more man than he could ever think possible he could be he loved he had a love for his Queen because she was a good woman I always believed that when you were humble woman and you stay on your knees and pray good things were coming to you and many forms and ways the emperor was just jealous. Jealous and evil anyway for the simple reason he couldn't be sincere to a roach if it crawled in there with a crown on it said that's how treacherous he was but this guard rescued her she owed her life to him and that's how they nine times out of 10 thinks about it that she owed gratitude of him saving her life and great respect for him and he had great respect for her for her courage for staying in the cold place like she did and went through all that she did everybody in the palace from down onto the slaves to the servants knew how to came up why the emperor was that he was just a plain old nasty man but he couldn't see it and his mind he was perfect he was a God and everybody was the bow down even his wife that he barely showed any love for I doubt when he slept with these women he had any feelings all he wanted to do was just get his you know what and happy relieved of it cuz this man didn't know what love was love it comes in many forms God tells us about love love is kind love is patient love comes in many forms it's in the first or second book of Corinthians talks about it but the world Kind of Love is sex lust and that's their love to them that's love but love goes Way Beyond sex and lust something that human beings are Far Cry from understanding and sad as I must say it half of them the majority will never know what true love is I know the king didn't even to the end when he kind of realized I didn't make a mess out of everything everything he touched he ruined his eyes told him lies and his ears were tickled by the women that he was slipped with believing their lives when he knew in his heart and his messed up heart he knew that these women were doing these evils but yet he acted like he didn't know he knew his mother was just as bad as he was with the things she did she knew that that one of the woman he married was a no good she was killing off the air when he couldn't slap one the one he needed to slap you with the slap her when he couldn't put one in jail then he would put her in jail for whatever these women did she pay the price but what I'm about her she's staying on her knees no matter what she went through she stayed on them knees and prayer she knew what her strength was the only time the emperor got on his knees and prayed when he was begging for a woman that he was lusting after prayers like that never make it past the ceiling anyone even sincere with that to kill this man that saved him and protected him when his life was in danger he owed this man his life he owed this man his life is saving his Empress for saving his sons when that wild horse got crazy and so much more but instead he was jealous and because the Buddhist is like a priest like he even accused him of having himself with his wife what kind of man is that that's evil he was a man of evil at his best and his best wow

Hongli fell into the power of being emperor...he lost his way...he did care about Ruyi in the beginning but palace life ruined him. I believe he was incredibly jealous and wanted to possess her even if it meant imprisonment...he never let anyone get away with hurting her tho....he was swift with that justice.
