The first mechanical computer (aside from potential ancient finds, but that's all iffy and a path full of misinformation/ancient aliens bull lol) was invented in 1822 by Charles Babbage. He would later go on to invent another computer (latest possible date is 1877) that was much closer to the modern computer, but was still light-years away. The integrated circuit (microchip) was invented in 1966 by Jack Kilby, but many computers were invented in the century since Babbage. I hope you look up some more facts about computers, it's a really awesome history that contains many great leaps. And vacuum tubes. Lots and lots of tubes.

Data doesnt even have to do with Computers per se. Data is just Information that's been organized for Analysis. Could be sales figures, production costs, anything! We store it on computers now becuase it's way more convenient to organize and you can calculate instantly. But before computers people still analyzed by hand.

That's how he could pay for Joey all the time and could afford Monica's dream wedding. Real happiness comes from having financial independence and having good company.

Remember that Monica’s apartment was illegally sub-letters so much so that it’s referenced in the last episode and Phoebe’s likely is too because she lived with her grandmother as well. Ross’s original apartment was terrible and therefore more affordable than any of the others.
