Six weeks ago at about 8PM I blew out my aorta. Instead of taking me to the closest hospital, the ambulance took me about 5 minutes farther to a Level 1 trauma hospital that had a heart surgery team on call for the night. Even then, I was later told, I barely made it. What followed was an 11 hour surgery, 4.5 hours on a heart-lung machine, and my heart was stopped for 20 minutes. The lead heart surgeon (I had 3 cardiologists doing the surgery) told me I had the worst blow-out he had ever seen and that I had a 10% chance of making it. Spent 5 days in ICU. In my drug induced coma, this was one of the songs that God brought to my remembrance and I "sang" it over and over again, despite having a breathing tube down my throat. The other was Lamentations 3:22-23. That is the only thing I remember from those days. I'm alive because HE's alive and heaven's gates are open wide with all of God's blessings and His mercies are new every morning.

Peter Wagner Oh that brought tears to my eyes! I can hear how you suffered and struggled... Yet how this affirmation in song was a lifeline for you. I had a similar experience... very high risk pregnancy, after losing 3 babies previously, and every week on the way to my ultrasound I would listen to this song, or just sing it if I had forgotten the cd at home. Every time, I focused on the truth that no matter what the ultrasound was to show... I would be at peace because He's ALIVE and heavens gates are opened WIDE!!! Sitting in that parking lot every week preparing myself... It was exhausting and strengthening and excruciating and beautiful each and every week. My super-duper-loved baby girl just turned 3! 😁🙏 Thank you for your beautiful testimony! Be well!!!

This song is from the 1970's! I used to hear it Every day, on ChrIstian radio!! I have 3 daughters, & one of them was only 2 or 3 yrs old. They'd be playing in the other room, but my 2 yr old would fly into the kitchen, to hear this song!!! She'd shout, "Don Fran.," !!! I txtd her this song today. I listen to this song often over and over and can't help but cry tears of joy every time. Praise God he is alive and because God raised him from the dead someday I too will rise! Those that mock him have no idea...the Bible tells us their minds are darkened, they are blinded to the truth the message of the Gospel is foolishness to those who are PERISHING but unto us that are SAVED it is the POWER of God unto salvation! I cannot even imagine the guilt that Peter must have felt knowing he had 3 opportunities to save Jesus, but all 3 times he denied he knew who he was!
