"He's all about wanting the bike balanced" - Chase Sexton's Red Bull KTM 450 SX-F | Bike Breakdown

Kris Keefer got the low down on defending 450SX champion Chase Sexton's new Red Bull KTM 450SX-F machine a couple week's back with the help of mechanic Brandon Zimmerman. After switching over from his long-time home at Honda, hear what Sexton is doing to setup the KTM to his liking. Zimmerman discusses the engine feel Sexton likes (front side/low end tourque), why he chose to run KTM's newest factory edition frame over the old one, and what things he's particular about with the motorcycle from week to week.

Does the chain bind up on this frame after the first 1/3 of travel is used up ? Did they fix it ?

There was inevitably a rear shock issue. Looks that it completely blew out or he had minor failure like a seal or a broken bolt. The rear end looks completely loose, almost like when a slinky closes. Super fast and super soft, which would create an uncontrollable amount of rear chatter and rebound. The fact he salvaged what he could says enough, sandman will be back. keepin you free from sin Til the sandman, he comes

So chase is having 35mm additionally to the stock bar mounts or in total? That seems pretty high to me if it was additional, the bike doesnt look like a FMX bike to me, would be interesting for me since i‘m 193cm or 6‘4 or something like that, i dont know your american measurements 😂

Sexton rode Honda for couple of years… now on KTM still has same frame / subframe / shock setup as factory honda. Seat a bit higher comparing to AP7 “chopper ride”. Like, Sexton made Honda ride from the KTM. Also low end torque, which especially honda has in stock… at all, team change was a good decision.

They possibly could move Plessinger to the Husky side, that way Prado could keep his Red Bull deal and wear whatever gear he chooses like Thor & Sidi, unlike being under the Gas Gas Troy Lee Team where he would have to wear TLD.👍

Yeah I think he only really went to gasgas for marketing cause apparently his GP bike is a ktm with Gasgas plastics. I mean it's a Spanish brand originally so why not have a Spanish rider 🤷🏾‍♂️​@@stevenliedberg2046

Chase has weak psychology and doesn't know how to deal with frustration so he blames it on the bike instead of dealing with his own weak AF mindset🤨 It's the worst case of "always a bridesmaid" syndrome that I've ever seen. To bad Chase couldn't spend a couple weeks with Brian Deegan🎉🎉🎉
