well.llllll.. I cannot agree with this statement. First, he can be played with Nahida to further boost the effectiveness of the team. Second, he is a specifically onfield dendro unit with heavy emphasis on proper rotation. Which is more fun, at least for me. I would gladly pull him even though I already have Nahida, either to upgrade her team or to create another hyper or quicken team for abyss. I would, if Yelan wasn't part of 3.4 banners. But since she is, I'm sitting here trying to solve a dilemma: should I go for Alhaitham when I already have Nahida, or should I go for Yealan when I already have Xingqiu?

i’ve wanted him ever since 3.0 because i liked his personality and design so damn much. couldn’t wait for him and was devouring every tiniest crumb of him that we were getting. i guess he appreciated it and was the first ever 5* to come home twice, the second time being on 12 pity. i don’t have nahida so being able to use him in dendro teams finally made me feel like the beautiful world of dendro reactions has opened its gates at last. i will be getting nahida next and i just know that he will become even more insane than he is. i was afraid of being disappointed after waiting impatiently for him for so long but god is this not the case. i’m in love with his playstyle and literally everythig about this character. kinda experiencing what scara stans were probably experiencing lmao. anyways thank u for the work well-done

Idk i skiped nahida cus she felt clunky af to play but i still cleared abyss with cyno and AH, both with a 3* weapon lmao, no character is a must and you can still enjoy them, for cyno it was just a lvl 60 yaoyao, kazuha, my kinda neglected miko at lvl 78 and just cyno with white tassel, or sometimes i replace kazuha with ayato or xinqiu + traveler for quickbloom, and for alhaitham i have found an even easier time on getting him a good team, just him with Harbinger of dawn, yaoyao, miko and zhongli or beidou

2:55 - The standard combo is to burst, refresh with skill later, then refresh with charge attack last. Burst has 18 second cooldown, skill has 18 second cooldown, and charge attack has 12 second cooldown. So doing it in that order will make the next rotation easier.

Also try Alhaitham on 2pc atk and dendro dmg if you have an off field Nahida with 800 - 1000k EM, this will give him a shot of nearly 400 EM not including substats so this way you can really maximise his damage, I have been hitting 30 - 50K hits with zhong and raiden as support

I feel that Al’s quickbloom team IS the best that dendro has to offer in terms of both synergy and damage, but yah Nahida works in other teams and XQ is hotly contested in other similar power level teams. Best to pull if you’re not satisfied with your Nahida teams and don’t have a home for XQ that you like… or , you know, just like him enough.

This you would lost a lot of damage tho, the time spend waiting for the mirror to disappear is not worth it. Bursting as you enter the field, gives you almost the same on-field time, with more consistent damage.

Two questions (if you can answer them): 1) Is the Iron Sting significantly better at high refinements? How much does it improve compared to other weapons? Since the umbrella event weapon is single target. 2) What about Sacrificial Sword? Since his projection attacks are skill damage, you have a high chance of triggering the effect (even at low refinements). Secondly, since you can reuse his skill during his on-field time, it would be easier to maintain his dendro application while also triggering his higher level projection attacks more often (instead of the less strong ones). The ER is obviously just a bonus, but it means, you probably don't even need to invest into ER at all which can help. Therefore, how good would it be? Edit: I guess, I have a third option: What about Festering Desire? Because it increases your skill damage by 32% and with that your projection attack damage?

not him but 1) Iron sting will indeed be better in multi target 2) Sac sword has the same issue has his C1, it just makes rotations easier, but doesn't offer an extra damage 3) Festering desire and Sapwood are both fine, they come close to iron sting performance while offering ER. without Nahida these options are likely better than iron sting as his energy needs are not something that can be ignored. It is very nice that these options are so close to his other options as they make him far easier to build.

Leveling Al Haitham's normal attacks IS a waste, ask anyone who has genshin optimiser to test the difference in damage from lv1 to lv8, the increase in damage is about 1000 to 2000 damage per auo. I'm talking 24000 spreads at lv8 compared to 22000 spreads at lv1. Without spread the damage difference is either the same or less depending on the scaling of the auto. People forget that spread and aggravate literally do not care about attack scaling. Skip leveling the autos, it's not worth the resources

It’s not that they don’t care about attack scaling, it’s that the reaction damage doesn’t scale with ATK stats. Those are two different things, and spread WILL still allow his normals to take a decent chunk of his total damage output

Whether the % number is 20 or 2000, spread will add the same amount of damage to it. My point is that Al Haitham's normal attack scaling numbers are so low that leveling them from 1 to 8 literally only adds about 2k damage and less if the auto doesn't react. Again, it's not completely negligible but I don't think it's worth the resources of going from 1 to 8

You do need somewhat of a rotation but very ez. i only played him in 2 dendro units comps since i didnt play that much yet. I never had ER issues without any er on him. I have a favonius nahida though favonius yaoyao or mc should also be ok. He's fun :) . I cleared abyss 35 only but with lvl 70 kuki, alhai, nahida and their arti are lvl 10 cause im tio resin poor 😅 so he performs well.

It really, really depends on you. Yelan is very good as a support and Al'haitham is a good dps. For me, I already have Xingqiu C6, and although Yelan can be the best option to use with him, I don't think she is necessary So I got Al'haitham, because he has a different playstyle.

Because Harbinger only performs well if Alhaitham is above 90% HP, meaning not only does he need a good shielder, but he'll often also need a healer if he's against corrosion and whatnot. It's a good weapon if its strict conditions are met, but there are far less annoying weapons to work with.

Dendro damage bonus is only going to affect your spread reactions. You can make a quicken team where DMC is the only dendro that focuses on aggravate, in which case the damage bonus doesn't matter a lot. If you want to focus on spread with Al or Tig, Nahida is always going to be better, but DMC is still a good dendro option if you don't have her. Giving DMC Sac sword makes them a pretty good battery, which is Nahida's main job for Al. Pretty much the same thing goes for hyperbloom. The biggest issues though is that you're playing circle impact, and you're reliant on your burst for off-field dendro.

no, you definitely can! if you do, though, you'll have to use deepwood and invest quite a bit into ER%, but that's the case with any DPS in all fairness. and especially with a team like double hydro hyperbloom, you won't even need to worry all that much about his personal damage, so no, there's definitely room for solo dendro alhaitham, he just has better options

I'm running him in Qiqi/Yelan/Raiden hyperbloom with a skyward blade - reaching 175% ER with an EM sands and, with proper technique, easily getting his burst back up far before he's off the field.

It's fine, its not going to be a great dps option, but the huge ER makes him way easier to play and build. In practice if you scuff up his rotations it may perform better as his best options tolerate mistakes less.

I swear some people in this community only give a shit about broken characters and want every single new character to be more broken than the last. That's an incredibly dangerous mindset to have in a gacha game. In fact, that's how a majority of them pull suckers in the most, and the worst part is since the ceiling is infinite on how broken they can make characters, that means you're constantly at their mercy psychologically cause you're gonna want every new broken character, but they're releasing so frequently and just being more and more broken you'll have no choice but to swipe.

I don't particularly like his play style (I find it to be redundant tbh), but overall he seemed like a solid unit. But then I decided to keep my guaranteed for one single reason. Dendro dmg ascensions. With no crit rate or dmg from ascension and high ER requirements, there is no way in hell you'll have a crit/em/ER ratio that's anything but hard copium. I'd say unless you have huge Stat sticks weapons like his own signature, just save yourself the trouble. Mine would have been 59/130 with either 300 em and zero er or 160 ER and less than 200 em. Pathetic. And I farmed gilded from 3.0 to wanderer's release, with the average piece having 30+ crit value. No wonder his signature has the most ungodly amount of cdmg ever seen on a sword so far.

Meta has been dead since they officially said there are never going to add more difficult content to the game, so clearing abyss 12 with 9 stars is the "endgame" and that became a joke. Literally you can do that with meme team comps, using only 4* chars and weapons or playing duos or single character per side. If you can play the hardest content in the game with trash underleveled characters with trash builds and still beat it, then there is ZERO point in talking about meta. If you like Xinyan, go for her and you'll still be able to do whatever you want with her. If a new character is "strong" that only means he can kill the same things but faster and there is no reward for doing that in this game... TLDR; the only meta is aesthetics I guess.

@Zaraki however unlike itto he's not a burst reliant unit, his elemental skill is strong enough to obliterate enemies and there are ways to get 3 mirror stacks without using his burst. Also alhaitham can deal good amount of damage with low investment 4 star weapon and can slot in with many teams itto on the other hand can only be slot into mono geo team with c6 goruo to reach his damage potential.

No one forces you to play Nahida. I don't have her and not planning to ever pull for her, but I 36* the Abyss with hyperbloom Cyno just fine. My Alhaitham is still level 70, but with how good he performs already I'm sure his spread\hyperbloom teams will be even stronger than Cyno's.

It’s not that they rush said guides, it’s just that they have access to new characters via the media server. They get to test and record these stuff a week earlier before the update is out for us. Think of it like an embargo like for iphones and graphic cards, tech channels receive the product 2 months earlier than the normal consumer in order to shape their opinions and test the product.
