So happy the whitefaced Steer is home now (we love your neighbors!) and everyone is back on the farm. What a video today, Adler goes to school and the boys are all getting their education, even if it means Chad misses his little buddy accompaning him to the farm for a few hours..... (oh, Rae, so sorry your Alpaca spit right onto your face, she took "aim" and BAM - but you took it so well, and not like a sissy or premadonna - no wonder Chad loves you to the moon and back! We do too! The alpaca's all love you and you are so gentle and good with them), fantastic ideas for a 2 bedroom home to be built on your farm and the plans you are making w/the cabin that is already there.....have you guys heard of the "shouse"? A lot of people in Kansas build shed-homes that house their families and their farm equipment (called shouses).....check those out too! Love all your videos and I'm your favorite fan!!! Can't wait to see the "finished" deal even with a nice pool (maybe with a waterfall and slide?) like the luxury designed pools, on your land - down the road!!

Rae if you like the fibers on your alpacas You should look into Iceland sheep .. They have a duel coat super soft underneath and harsh onto. And they are nothing like any other sheep. You would love them.

Best way to tell if an alpaca is pregnant is if you bring her back to the male, if she gets down into a cush she's not pregnant, if she spits him off and won't let him near her, she's pregnant.

We always used a donkey to break our show calves. It teaches that calf they can only eat or drink when Donkey does. But, we would leave them days not hours lol

When the kids showed calves/heifers etc at the fairs. If we had an extra stubborn one to break, we feathered one of our donkeys to the calf. They have no choice to do anything except what the donkey wants to do. It works.

If this is your “forever home”, look carefully at everything. Vaulted ceilings are nice, but will you be able to clean and dust up there in years to come? Floor to ceiling windows, what about cleaning windows? Make your doors handicapped accessible while you’re building the walls. Oh, I heard your plans for the boys. My son had a similar plan for his daughters. Unfortunately, kids do return home sometimes. Circumstances beyond your control happen and you don’t want them sleeping in the streets, so don’t get your hopes up too high.

Add a cable back high across where you are going to feed cubes ,wrap a burlap sack around it and keep it wet with fly spray and they will get it on their backs when they come in to eat.

Y'all are going to have to learn to wear overalls and keep packs of babywipes in the big pockets. I make my own hand sanitizer sprays, and often spray baby wipes, even still in the package, to have that instant cleaner, whether you're dealing with animals, children, or handling things that you want to wash your hands after.

Hi Chad @ Rae, love watching your progress with everything, I'm 85 feel 35, have an acre, raised white face cattle for personal use, rabbits; chickens, turkeys, pig, goat, horse and garden. I'm alone now, have 16 chickens, 4 cats, 2 dogs, tons of squirrels trying to get rid of eating the eggs, digging under house, hawks grabbing the chickens, rats and mice and white tail rabbit's. Trying to grow garden which is impossible, so much for country life, no city life for me. Anyway love watching the boys helping you, your wedding, congratulations,
