Retired GM Master mechanic. After turning wrenches for close to 50 years my tools are in my home garage. I specialized in steering, brakes, and suspension. The amount of special tools required to cover these areas was considerable. The last 7 years I worked in a shop where I had to keep my main toolbox {Mac MB1700} locked up. As a mechanic I understood tools was very expensive, when you had to re-buy them because someone borrowed them and did not return it, they were more expensive. Very impressive set. Thank for the tour.

Wow ! I was an industrial mechanic for 25 years . We were very fortunate to being able to get Snap-on tools. We often got the industrial finish Snap-on because they were less expensive. We didn't care a whole lot about the chrome finish. The mechanic I worked with ,insisted on the chrome. I insisted on the red smooth finish. I had a 4' Snap-on rollaway and a Kennedy Chest. We also had a tow hitch rigged up on our tool box so we could use a three buggy to pull our tool box to the equipment we work on as our department was about half the size of a football field.

I've bought quite a few that were "broken" and in need of nothing more than a good dismantling, cleaning, and relubing to work like new again. I see a lot of rebadged products (testers and other tools) that could have been bought cheaper elsewhere, but I get it, the big tool vendors extend credit and allow you get what you need without a full outlay of the money at one time. With that said, I'm sure many mortgages were paid with what's in those toolboxes. LOL.
