Sorry guys you both are wrong. Look up Jordan King and it will show the wiki to Abdullah II. His father Hussein was the King of Jordan and two weeks before he died made a surprised announcement that Abdullah II his eldest son was to be his heir and not Hussein's Brother Hassan who was suppose to be the next ruler in line. This announcement came on January 24th 1999 and was a pretty big deal worldwide. You know when the first time the video of "My Name Is" released? January 21st 1999. Then proceeded to destroy the game, kinda like... Abdullah, a constitutional monarch, liberalized the economy when he assumed the throne, and his reforms led to an economic boom which continued until 2008. Reading through his reign, I found relatable comparisons to Eminem's life. All way too much of a coincidence to me.

Scratching as an art form went underground because it wasn't "pop"-y enough for the mainstream anymore. It needs to come back. The best way I can understand Eminem and his approach to hip-hop is to go back to artists, musicians, and thinkers, in general (philosophers, scientists, mathematicians, etc.), who hold an almost iconic place in western society and history (e.g., the Renaissance period of the ~14th century to ~17th century). Now, I am not equating the substance of what he says to the great minds of said era, but, instead, that his drive, determination, and pursuit of knowledge within his craft are analogous to them. He could have easily sold a few albums, moved on, and sought accolades, monetary gain, or even isolation elsewhere. But he didn’t and doesn’t. Instead, he keeps pushing the boundaries of what is possible lyrically and musically beyond his predecessors and current contemporaries in the craft of music and genre of hip hop. When I picture Eminem writing and fighting for the perfect line, I imagine Mozart in front of a sheet of music, Picasso in front of a canvas, Chaucer in front of parchment paper, da Vinci thinking to himself, etc. You can not deny the artistry!
