One thing this guide doesn’t touch on his Chen’s dare devil side, He’s super brave. When he went into the haunted house he didn’t get scared once and said it was enjoyable. He did a high up rock climbing with ease when Xiumin was scared (the poor babe😂) and i believe was the first to try out the ground paraglider. He’s out ray of sunshine Jongdae.🥰

Chen's personality is amazing . It is not one type . He is everything . He is introvert quiet guy who listens to others and understand others , he is so affectionate ,caring,polite . Chen is quite quiet, I think he is actually an introvert but he is not shy for sure, he just let others speak first most of the time, still he is playful and funny when he is with the members, and very very kind, sweet and caring with everyone. They say he is the loudest not because of talkativeness, but because his voice is naturally loud and strong hahaha plus he whines and laughs A LOT 🙂🤍 He is made of compassion, love and affection😢❤ he is truly an angel

When they were saying he was one of the quietest, they meant that he doesn't talk a whole lot. He will sit back and let the others talk. So when he and D.O. are together, neither one talks more than the other, they say what needs to be said and no more. He is by FAR the loudest when it comes to just his voice. Despite being one of the more reserved members, he is still part of the Beagle line, which is Chanyeol, Baekhyun, and Chen. Coincidentally, they are also all 92 liners! Those 3 are the loudest in the group, for sure. Chen is a sweetheart. He is also a terrible flirt! He doesn't scare, like ever, and he is always so enthusiastic! I don't call him Chenshine for nothing! Rockdae is my favorite version of Chen/Jongdae. His voice is perfectly suited for being in a rock band! I've been listening to kpop for about 13 years now (which means A LOT of bands!), and Chen is still my ultimate bias! Glad you got to know him a bit better with this guide! I recommand you listen to "Uprising" his rock solo song, or "Rainfall" the OST for the drama Chief of Staff, which shows his lower register, but really any solo song from him would make me happy! Can't wait for his return from the army. Oh and something that wasn't mentioned in the video is the hate he got for marrying his long time girlfriend and daring to have a kid in an industry where fans believe they are entitled to control their idols' personal life... He was the one who announced his marriage, which took everyone by suprprise but I find that super brave!

Chen standing up for his relationship is one of the bravest things I've ever seen any idol do. We have an example of poor Baekhyun and Kai (their relationship only last for months) who had to break up due to toxic fans but Chen stood up for not only his family but also his career, reputation and his group. There are many idols and actors out there who left their past relationships for fame, some even dumping their partners during pregnancy while there are also some who took advantage of innocent girls using their fame but Chen was in relationship for years and committed to both his group and his martial law at the same time. Loss of the station didn't stop him from taking the right decision to be by the side of his future wife and kids.

Some people misunderstood the part of him "being so loud" as "talkative" person. His voice is loud in literal meaning and he does get so energetic sometimes but just like how DO said in the vid. he only say things he needs to say.. and in general he is a little bit quiet compared to other members.. And he gives off that vibe too.. And yes, King Chen has the range aka can do anything! lol.

Thanks Sammy. If anything, I think his best solo song is "Beautiful Goodbye", it is a break-up song, but he sings it from the heart, so beautifully too. It's also a beautiful mv, set in the dry, leafless season of the fall...near the end of fall, when spring is around the corner and the ground will soon give way to new, young blossoms...which as the song implies, would speak of new life..🌱 The dancers in the mv signifies different memories of this woman he loved over some period of time, and how he will keep them in his heart as he lets her go. It made me cry.💙🌺

Ahh! I’m so happy that you finally got to Chen’s guide! He’s definitely a vocal powerhouse and his personality is very multi-faceted! Idols can act but you know but its their personal choice though almost every exo member acted , its not same in other idol groups . Chen acted as Benny in in the heights there is a rehearsal of him & the actress who play as his love interest .That is super amazing so romantic it was so real . When Chen asked about acting he said he want to focus on onething first he has a goal in singing, once he reach that he will look for others too.

Some suggestions for Chen’s solo tracks- “Hello”, “Beautiful Goodbye” and “May We Bye” are obvious but you shouldn’t miss “Bye Babe” (a fun(ky) duo w. 10cm), the beautiful “Lights Out” (live), “Watch Out” (a rock number from the CBX tour- live). “Uprising” (live) is the other rock song you heard parts of in the guide. His duo with Chanyeol “If We Love Again” doesn’t get nearly enough attention. My personal favorite is “Good Night”- a simple & charming, peaceful lullaby- not flashy but so calming

He’s extremely complicated- intensely emotional & empathetic- super hardworking- outgoing when performing (or with friends) but (almost painfully) shy- knows he’s talented but hates to brag- and always thinks of others before himself.
