I think I know why the modders always take more damage. What I think happens is they try to increase their defense, but don't know about the limit on that. If it exceeds Male Majin defense it resests to 0.

Turns out the reason that modders are glass cannons is that the stat mod tries to increase a hidden “defense” stat. however, when the stat is set above 2, it automatically registers as 0. That’s why they take so much damage.

One of the things I’ve noticed is that if you slowdown your combos people tend to try to attack but your combo is still going so it usually counters any basic attacks they throw
