Great interview with Ray. I am a cancer survivor it’s been five years now it was tough going but I made it. Hopefully I will be there in March and can have a beer with you guys. 😎

Very interesting as I had a melanoma on my back 40 years ago. Those were the days when the average person would never have heard the word. My melanoma was not visible to me and I only noticed because of an itch. But I was reading the newspaper one day and there was a report on a conference of physicians being held to discuss the problem. After reading this I went to see my doctor and the very next day he had made an appointment for me at the hospital to have it removed. I was lucky as my melanoma had progressed quite far (they measure the thickness of it to grade its severity) and if I had waited any longer it would have soon metastasized and spread throughout my body . Then it is interesting after listening to Rays story as I have just finished several courses of immunotherapy (with BCG) to treat my bladder cancer and just a few days ago was told I am now clear of cancer and will just need checks once a year.

So the title and then I thought what is he doing in the Philippines when he has 6 months left? Now he seems to be enjoying life there and no deadline anymore and that is great. The Philippines also has a positive health effect on people as long as they live healthily.

You are an amazing interviewer👍 It just flows so easy with you with no effort. I’m not a good speaker, so I find the very helpful tips in the way you do them. Apart from that it’s nice to have the glimpse of life of expats prior to their journeys to the Philippines and what they think of the Philippines! Happy new year 🎉

Hey Simon..what a great story. You seem to have a knack for finding interesting people. Maybe it's the magic of Siquijor. What is the name of that resort that Ray began his stay at there in Siquijor? Im relocating there next year and if I don't find anything better, I'm going to start things at Stella'z if there's a vacancy by then. Another great interview!😊

Happy New Year mate, I don't get this deleting of comments, I'm not doing it so I guess it must be KZbin but why? Very strange 🤔

@@SpeakingofAsia Absolutely no idea. This is pretty much what I said..... Happy New Year everyone 2024. This interview is a lesson to retire ASAP. Don't do the " one more year ", as you may not get one more year. You don't need to be rich, just have enough to be comfortable in retirement. As Gus Lombardo said " enjoy yourself, it's later than you think"
