It was original and creative, visually difficult to pull off in the early 1980's, and very funny thanks to it's incredible writing and cast. This movie is in my Top Ten also.

Because all they cared about was story telling and not pushing a political ideology. Even the female characters was stronger in the 80s. Take Ripley in Aliens. Most men had no problem in believing she was capable of being in charge of a bunch of men. She was their equal and commanded respect. Compare that to women leaders in movies today. They eye roll and are basically misandrists

Watching this clip has got me excited for Slimer's return in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. Just as Slimer is going through the wall, it looks like flames are spreading out. (1:53) I actually like that. I can imagine that the same would've been done for the Library Ghost, the Subway Ghost, and other ghosts that the Ghostbusters had captured as well.

Gotta love that this clip opens on the famous scene of them turning on the proton pack (a tiny nuclear reactor) for the first time, and Egon and Peter try to slide as far away as they can as if the proton pack exploding with the force of a small nuclear bomb could be mitigated with an extra two feet of distance.

this version has been oddly editied all the audio track for dialog is super low while the music is way too loud I've also noticed changes made to the audio for no reason at all 0:28 proton stream sound has been edited and is now the afterlife beam sound overlayed ontop of the original. 0:58 audio for music is oddly loud and echoed? 1:49 slimer scream lowered and afterlife proton stream ending sound has been added in? 2:06 audio is once again echoed. 2:45 audio track for music is so loud talking from ray can no longer be heard properly. 4:01 afterlife proton stream once again added over-top of original beam sound. 4:52 audio track for ghostbusters talking too low, slimers audio is now much louder. 4:57 random jump in loudness of audio. 4:59 audio track for venkman too low. 5:11 audio for beam jumps from low to high. 5:12 proton pack power off sound from afterlife added in. 5:43 random bowl, plate dropping sound added in that was not in originally? 5:52 audio of beams and talking constant changes up until 6:25 . 6:28 music audio louder than it should be. and these are all the changes made im not sure why any of this was done at all because it makes the scene worse as audio is messed up making dialog un hearable and the extra proton stream sounds overlay-ed on-top of the originals is just not needed super odd i hope this is not the version they use for the 40th anniversary re release as the film dose not need any audio or visual changes and hasn't had any over its 40 years its been out!
