That is a beautiful 1967 Ford pickup look at all the woodwork in the bed that person put into the truck if it was me I would let everything stay original

I LOVE THAT YOU'RE KEEPING THIS TRUCK TOGETHER AND GETTING IT BACK ON THE ROAD. IT HAS A GOOD STORY, IT JUST NEEDS A NEW CHAPTER. I HOPE YOU KEEP ALL THE RECEIPTS TO ADD TO HIS PILE. I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING THIS PROJECT.

Thanks! Yes, absolutely will be keeping all receipts on the build to add to it.

Great idea for the truck. Bottom line, keeping another classic on the road. Mr Green will be ❤happy…

I truly can’t wait for this build!!! I just started on a 67 F350 flatbed w/ 352 V8. Runs well, all original Frost Turquoise. But… no brakes! So, I’ll watch you and see if I can take notes and do a conversion along with you? 😅

Glad you're planing on putting back on the road. They all don't have to be concours lawn ornaments. They also all don't have to be converted to 4x4. I was in a similar boat on my '68 F-250 3 years ago, but did what it took to just make it drive well, and I made back what I put into it and change when I sold it recently - as a two-wheel-drive. And it was just as rusty as this Harbor Blue '67. If Mr. Green didn't keep up with the maintenance, it would've been long gone before it as parked in Y2K. Dad had the body shop go though his '68 F-100 every five years to fight off the rust. Call it The Cost of Doing Business if you buy for the long term rather than changing out your lease every 3-4 years with nothing to show for it.

Converting the chassis to 4wd, rebuilding the engine with an updated tranny and transfer case and tricking the truck out with a budget would get you a cool camping, hunting and fishing rig. That camper shell would be really easy to insulate with bubble foil and expanding foam in a can and beef the frame up and add a roof rack.
@MattKubik1791Ай бұрын
All good ideas! insulation would be a nice upgrade.

@@MattKubik1791 Have ever watched the utube channel, thebossoftheswamp with Jim Desclos? He builds and refinishes rural properties in upstate New York and 1 in rural New Hampshire and does that homesteading stuff. Jim goes all out using the bubble foil insulation and shows how it works with cabins and sheds and campers and ice chests. His projects are interesting to watch and ice cold beer helps him sometimes with the projects. If Jim can do a project without buying new material or spending money, well that is just good backwoods logic. That camper could be updated and tricked out for not a lot of $$$.

My Late Dad bought his first brand new vehicle which was a 1967 Ford F-100 Camper Special that had the Ranger package. And it cost $3200.00. Things sure have changed since then. I was with Dad when he bought it.

I liked the body swap idea, but I agree it would probably not be worth it. I think your new plan sounds cool. I would go with a MT, Shifting gears is a dying art.

Great Idea with the 4WD Matt. As to rust u should come find one in Australia that good. OH I should be so lucky

Yeah you can’t part it out that story is way to cool! A lot of history that’s in that thing

I love this idea a lot better then doing the body swap with it. Not real keen on the 4x4 conversion, but I am not against a 4x4 conversion.

Do you think someone would want it cause it has all the years of paperwork. Like sell it on bring a trailer?
@MattKubik1791Ай бұрын
That I’m not sure. It’s more of a cool addition. I’m not sure it adds any value. Maybe some desirability.
@gregerickson6924Ай бұрын
Considering the receipts are spread out over 33 years, $279 and change per year isn't much in today's dollar. Chances that my 2022 F150 which cost 60K + makes it 33 years is probably nil unless I park it...😄
@mleppert8535Ай бұрын
How about a five speed truck tranny high rear gears and Western mirrors? That engine is good with set of headers.
@MattKubik1791Ай бұрын
Not a bad idea! But can’t get too high of gears in Dana 60s 3.55 is the limit. The little mirrors will likely have to stay to keep away from having to do body and paint work.

I wouldn’t 4x4 swap it that’s old man fresh truck 2ed with everything just put it back the way he had it with that neat if a story and proof of everything that truck just deserves to be left just like it was ordered. There is too many 4x4 swaps and frame swaps someday we’ll miss all the old man trucks

That's what I was thinking the amount of receipts that mr.green did keeping it on the road even if it is a old work truck id just drive the thing it kinda be a shame to pull it apart after all the effort to keep it going.. brush, and mountain camping rig I kinda like that idea don't necessarily know if it was me if I'd make it 4x4 but it would be nice to see it put back in use and I still the 352fe is my favorite of the fe motors
