The braves just told him to play bad with other teams and they’d figure everything else out. At this point he’s brought in 4 trades and came right back playing good as ever with the braves. The Mets need to sign him and then keep him in the minors for the rest of his career if they’re going to have a chance at winning the division.

@@hehe2550 You completely missed why he's good with the Braves. He's deployed vs low velocity end game batters. He excels at forcing strikes on tired clutch hitters. That tells a lot about how the bullpen management is with the Braves. His fastball is so consistent it turns out to be a mean knuckleball in disguise.

He had a 1.56 ERA in 2023 but missed a big chunk after breaking his shin. Jesse Chavez in a Braves uniform will be studied for generations. We may never have an answer for how he does it but it's such an enigma.

Jesse is my ex-wife’s younger cousin. When he was in his late teens I played catch with him to warm him up before his Dad caught for him. He was hitting 90-92 mph back then and had natural movement on his fastball. We were so happy for him when he got drafted by the Rangers. I am glad he is still pitching in the majors because that is all Jesse ever wanted to do in life was to pitch for a major league team. Odelay Jesse!

In baseball, and sports in general, anything over 30 is old. Physical prime is in the mid-late 20's and sports put massive amounts of wear on the body, so athletes fall off harder than your average fit person

Let’s go, Uncle Jesse’s finally getting the respect he deserves! Braves fans know all of this, and love him even more because of it. He mainly tosses a cutter and a sinker. Both at about 88-89 MPH. He will also splash in a 76 MPH curve, with a dollop of an 84 MPH change-up on top. None of them are overly impressive. He just hits his spots, and is great at inducing weak contact, and ground balls. Go Braves…..and go Uncle Jesse! World Series bound baby…. ….if we can stop getting injured (knock on wood). 🤣😄
