Tom is the “political rapper”. Others dabble in politics, Tom made a career with it.
@LaceyMediaProductions6 ай бұрын
Tupac 'All eyes on me' was Tom's first hip hop album ever, and his first favorite rapper. He says - "I remember back when I was the only political rapper, what the hell happened" (he means alive right now) - There has been lots of political rap, that is the entire foundation of hip hop. However, political rap itself was never really a genre on its own... Tom really created the lane for what is now an entire subgenre of hip hop that goes beyond just conscious rap. Tom's level of "political" rap is vastly different that the conscious rap and stuff they were doing in the 80's and 90's when I was growing up. And please don't take offense, this is purely my opinion, on this particular bar. But trust me lol, you weren't the only ones questioning that line. Tom is actually a great dude, mad props to y'all for continuing the journey despite all of that. Eminem was also a huge inspiration to Tom as well... He actually won an auction for an NFT produced by Eminem for 100k and wrote a song dedicated to giving Em his flowers. It's called Dear Slim, and the best part is that not only was the beat produced by Eminem, but Tom was a "product" of Shady as well lol.

I was worried when I saw this one come up. I will agree that Tom did not create the political genre. At 65 I go back a few years and music has always been the voice of the people. I will say Tom has brought politics and social issues to the forefront of the music through KZbin today. I suggested Castles earlier, but a more recent release on where Tom stands socially would be The Machine. The System is another good one. Thanks for giving Tom another chance. His fan base is loyal. Some can be too critical. Ignore them. From what I can see Tom knows where his success has come from. His fans. What songs made him get the label of being a racist, It started I believe with Whiteboy. The response to the hate he received from that song was titled This House. From that point forward he has had to climb an uphill battle to fight labels. He even wrote a song about that Names.

I’ve watched him pour his heart out, saw him angry, seen and heard countless accounts of him stopping people from committing suicide, (myself included) I’ve witnessed his work ethic, loyalty, dedication, courage, passion, selflessness, intelligence, as well as the biggest heart a person could imagine. He stands firm on respecting this country and that we are “one nation under God!” His creativity is like nothing I’ve ever seen! He’s unmatchable and untouchable by anyone, neither mainstream or independent! Tom’s influence is opening minds and hearts all over the world! It’s actually trickling into political offices! I love him like family, but to me he’s more than human!! I couldn’t be more proud, privileged, and thankful that Tom chose America as his home! #HangoverGangForever🔥🤘🏆⭐️

HOG stands for hangovergang. Hangover gang initially is what Tom called his close circle of friends that he would go out and party with. He said the the term stood for having the best time of your life. Over time when he started music he gave that name to his Fanbase. And of course he was drinking and on drugs at that time however, as he became sober, the term “hangovergang” still means having the best time of your life, but without drugs or alcohol!

It’s sad to sit and watch ppl have an opinion before they even know what Tom is about. He’s not a racist because his skin color. And yes he was the 1st to create his style of political rap, one could say that he brought the conversations of politics back. The best way to get to know Tom’s music is to start from the beginning of his career. You only have about 100 videos to go through. I’m not sure why ppl get mad over a song; if you want to be mad at someone be mad at the mainstream music artist. All they rap about is puss, drugs, guns and killing their own race.

I was just pointing out that when the two of you reacted to White Boy that both of you blew a spring as if you had a problem with a white man speaking about the everyday struggle of being white is. Just because our skin color isn’t the same doesn’t mean we have to hate the Blackman or any man for that matter. I’m wondering if ya’ll actually took the time to listen to it more than once without you reacting to it on your channel. The only way to get rid of racism is to also listen to what and how it affects everyone else beyond your own bubble. This isn’t a comment meant to make anyone upset. We are all adults here just having a conversation about music and lyrics. Good luck going down the rabbit hole of Tom MacDonal’s music. It’s not for everyone yet everyone will be able to start important conversations that can change the way you look at the world. Our government are the ones that have indoctrinated multiple generations into believing that black and white hate each other and that we aren’t supposed to cross their racial lines of division. It’s past time for our generation to come together and to show these governments that they have no control over our hearts and minds. Nobody will ever tell me whom I can love, who I can associate with, be friends with or make me believe that you base it all on the color of someone else’s skin color. Peace is what we need in America not division amongst the people no matter what ones skin color is. Okay I’m done for now. May you grow as your channel grows. ✌️❤️🤘

‼️NEW SUBSCRIBER‼️ TOMS STORY: Tom MacDonald is 100% independent! He’s had major record labels after him daily for at least 6 years and he turns them ALL down! After you listen to a few of his songs, especially the music industry and sad rappers, you’ll understand why. He writes all of his songs, makes his beats, and his girlfriend Nova Rockafeller shoots and edits all of his videos! That’s why dear rappers is so simplistic because they were just starting out really. He dabbled in bands and had managers in the past, but that’s why he struggled so much and that’s why he wasn’t as successful as he should’ve been until he wrote dear rappers. That’s after he had cut everybody out and started doing things his way on his time with no middleman! He spent about nine months battling crippling depression. He contemplated suicide several nights and he was a severe alcoholic! After what seemed to be an eternity, he spiritually came out of that depression and quit everything cold turkey, not only alcohol but also marijuana and certain anxiety medication. Him and Nova could barely pay rent to keep a home after that but he stayed strong and ultimately wrote Dear Rappers which was his very first video to go viral, and the rest is history! He shoots his videos wherever is convenient whether it’s in his own home, in his backyard, or in an alley! He will even go in grocery stores and randomly shoot a scene for a video lol. He personally signs albums ordered by his fans (for a short time with each new drop) and he also packages and ships the albums and all merchandise with close family and friends assistance hangovergang.com. He builds the sets for all of his videos! Also, he used to be a carpenter as well as a professional wrestler in Canada, he’s from Mission British Columbia. He spent some time in college but that just wasn’t where his life was going. He had some experiences with the illuminati, not sure for how long or what exactly the nature of that was, but I know that he left to follow Christianity! The set for clown world was in his backyard l! He took number one on iTunes with “best rapper ever” beating Eminem’s entire last new album!! Recently he took number one from Cardi B on iTunes with clown world! He’s taken the spot from her to number one multiple times! He’s also taken number one on billboards top emerging new artist! He made number one recently on hip-hop Billboard charts and number two in all genres! He also charted on seven billboards with Nova Rockafeller and Brandon Hart which included 2 number ones with “No Good Bastard’s” and made it on 7 MORE billboards with “Church”! He also just got three number ones and several other charts on billboards with “snowflakes“, and 10 spots on billboards including 2 number ones with “Brainwashed“!! He also got 2 more number ones on billboards with Adam Calhoun “New World Order”! He dropped something very different in his colab album “As Far as the Stars” with Nova and Brandon Hart! He dropped 2 albums 9/3/21 #UsAgainstTheWorld #NoGutsNoGlory. Available now to order on iTunes or Amazon Music is the collab album with Adam Calhoun “The Brave” and 2 solo albums that dropped 11/18/22 “Renegade” and “The Revolution” only on Tom’s website! I hope you have fun getting to know him as much as I have! #HangovergangForever🔥🏆🤘⭐️

#HOG in the house. Hang Over Gang. So regarding Tom's haters. His first viral song was DEAR RAPPERS. In that song, Tom was calling out rappers who were promoting drugs, alcohol, gang banging and calling women he's. Tom received about 20 percent of hate saying he was calling Tom a racist. Tom said he was calling out content not color. His haters are obsessed stalkers. Some are lefty Stan's who also are part of the woke, censorship cancel culture. He then did a song WHOTEBOY to clarify who he is and the hate just got louder and worse. Because Tom is thoughtful and really wants to be a unifier, before he taped WHITEBOY, he videotaped him bringing all the actors to gether to play the song. He then explains why he made the song, answered any questions they may have, and than open the door if any felt uncomfortable participating before he taped it. They all gave him an ovation and no one left. Tom has had to become comfortable with the negative comments. But in another song similar to GOD MODE, in that he addresses his haters, he says he is using the algorithm to expand his audience. Tom understood if you get positive OR negative comments, they cause his music to be sent to more potential fans. Tom has said he never intended to be speaking about social issues, but if people are interested, he wants to start discussions of touchy subjects. He does point out hypocricy or things to him that don't make sense. One of his biggest themes, and a vid you should check out....THE SYSTEM, Tom tries to explain the government and mainstream media intentionally program things that divide us, race, gender, economic class so that we struggle with each other, which distracts us from focusing on those in power who are the ones controlling us and creating problems that they then want you to vote for them to fix them.Here is the conversation before WHITEBOY. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKvUonSebbGAoa8si=J98ew2_MUz3Yb7wJ

Tom has live streams with every song release where he interacts with his fan base. Tom knows he isn't the first that has rapped about politics. I think the comparison was meant more for him getting crap for his politic rap, then many started jumping on that genre because they started seeing how successful Tom was off his political rap. Just my thoughts. I love Tom's music, he's a very versatile artist and I have listen to his albums every time I drive. But bumping Tom's music isn't for everyone, Tom usually has a message. He is not the first political rapper but he is the first person to make political wrapping huge

I love yalls honest reaction. I would recommend some older songs, like the system. He is controversial because he is a conversation starter for shit that needs to be addressed and talked about, in my opinion mind you. I believe the political genre he is referring to is the new divide between the L & R over the last 10 years, not in its entirety. But that's just my opinion. Great reaction though guys.

"They have money for wars but can't feed the poor." It's always been political, and transformative.

What you say is political rap I think you may be talking about socially conscious rap. Although their intertwined they are different. Now, I'm old enough to remember public enemy, even saw them second row at a concert, who were more political. However as an independent artist goes, and as viral as this man goes, he is correct in a way with the type of politics he speaks of. But you are also correct with your statement. It's probably hard to break it down in a couple of bars. So you're not wrong, but from his viewpoint he's not wrong either. I thought the same thing when I heard that bar though.

What your talking about is know as a dog whistle, it’s when a minority knows what someone is saying but they don’t spell it out directly to stop them getting in trouble I will say, I personally don’t think Tom is using dog whistles, a lot of the time he uses stereotypes to make points

White Boys that you watched was his so called racist video, that is why he responded with “ This House”.

‼️I’m Tom’s unofficial voluntary publicist so you’ll be seeing me quite often. If you want something in your face and non political, check out I’m sorry, No Response, don’t look down, this house, and I don’t care. The more political and culturally charged songs are clown world, fake woke, brainwashed, America, people so stupid. snowflakes, and end of the world. However, his entire catalog is absolute gold! I suggest starting the journey down the #TomMacdonaldRabbitHole! I have back stories to every video, including fun facts, iTunes rankings, and Billboard chart placements! I can’t wait to see your reactions and you will see me in the comments‼️ #HangovergangForever🔥🤘⭐️🏆

I am 64 and I disagree with your political rapper stance. No one has presented it or went as deep as TM. Not even close imo. Lets appreciate he is 100% independent, comes up with the concepts writes the lyrics and makes his own beats and Nova video's all his songs and they market and distribute their music also. Now watch the catalogue and every song is well done. Think about the work that goes into this and still people love to criticize.

Tupac wasn't know as a political rapper, he did some but overall he's known for gangster rap "thug life"...or speakin on the hood ..same as like NWA, you could say like immortal technique or something but never blew up like Tom, Tom is saying there's abunch now using as their styles, which if you listened to his political stuff you'd see completely diff than past rappers just saying

You aint buggin but the days of that style of rap kinda dropped out of sight the last 10 years or so. Tom brought that kind of political and social content back to rap.
@blxckbeard6 ай бұрын
yea rap is political right, it isn't, it was in the beginning, most of the greats of the past did political rap in one way or another. When Tom says about he beeing doing political rap and no everyone just jumped into that train doing the same (trying at least) he is talking about nowadays, what do we hear in rap nowadays of people at his level or above him? Promoting Violence, Drugs, Degrading women, Money and so on. No one was doing political rap and starting conversations during the last 10 years because it wasn't selling, only one who did it and continued to do it on his level was Tom but in the last 3 or 4 years a lot of others came up doing the same thing after they checked how it worked for Tom. That is what he meant.
