Hey Kate I just wanted to thankyou personally for making your videos, you many not realise it but you are inspiring young women riders and giving them untold confidence. I showed your video to someone who's just passed their CBT and bought a bike and was feeling really under confident due to it's size and they had dropped it. They got really put off. However after showing them you riding these large bikes has allowed me to demonstrate that it is possible but it takes time to develop the confidence and technique. Keep doing what you're doing fantastic videos and thankyou. If I could tell you what this girl has been through in her life thus far you would understand just how positive an influence your contribution has been. 🙏

I think if this weather keeps up Kate, jet ski reviews might be in order lol. When i first saw the gsa in red 😮, but in black or green not quite so bad and i was surprised that the price difference between rhe gs and gsa wasn't much. I'd like to try it and i always like bikes that have a large fuel range, but i don't think it would will ever be a look back at bike before shutting the garage door.

Adventure bikes are the SUV's of the bike world and the new GS adventure is the motorcycle equivalent of the new LR defender. There are many defenders in my neighborhood with ladders and snorkels all set for the rugged adventure of a Starbucks run and that's kinda the vibe of the new GSA.

I've wanted BMW boxer twin for decades and my word they have come a very long way. Your dads' bike looks brilliant in my humble opinion as I take my hat off to you both for taking it out on a rainy run. I love the little fills in the commentary and you filter through traffic well. As someone who started riding in the 80's when almost every one filtered to the late 2000's when some not only didn't filter, they didn't over take either and that's completely fine, it's just different. The important thing is to be safe as times change. Anyway less of my waffle many thanks for a great video Kate.

Love your work Kate.... Re the new GSA..... I really despair at BMW 🤷🏻‍♂ I recently came out of biking retirement and started shopping with BMW first on my list but struggled to justify the expense (Aussie pricing for a GS was looking over the fence at 40k+ ) or the fact that their bikes I was considering just didn't look nice ( in my opinion ). I got something else for 40% less and it'll do fine while I decide if the biking life is still for me. I do love a shaft drive though so I may be back in a year or two.

I've never been a GS fan because I'm not planning to ride the Paris-Dakar and I don't need a pretend off-roader. That said, I think the 1300 is the best-looker since the early ones. It looks more like a motorbike and less like the Starship Enterprise. The adaptive ride height is a brilliant innovation: I watch and wince as short riders with the wife on the back try to keep the thing upright while they park in the yard of the Ponderosa (local bike meet, about 20-mile from the dealer you visited). Your dad probably specified it so it's comfortable for you to take it in for servicing for him (that's what I'd do in his position). But watching you getting drenched on the M6/M56 prompts me to say that an RT offers you much better weather protection. The screen and fairing are a lot wider and the "lowers" do a brilliant job of protecting your legs. Nevertheless, the GS is a great bike and I can understand why your dad is stoked.

I loved my 2016 GSA and really wanted to like the new 1300 GSA but I just can't believe that BMW went down the road they did. The 1300GS looks great to me (esp in the Triple Black) but the GSA is about as pretty as a wheelbarrow. I love it when you walk away from your bike but then can't resist a quick look back - with the new GSA I'd just want to get off and walk away quickly, only stopping to remove my helmet once well out of sight.

I think the R1300GS looks fine. GS models have never been beautiful and lean much more to German functional. I'm a GSA person as I find them a much better bike for my personal needs. I am struggling a little with the looks of the new GSA. Perhaps if that aluminium panel at the front of the tank was blacked out it might look a bit nicer. Having said that I will probably buy one in a year or so anyway as I don't ride a GS for its beauty.

The new 1300 was a bit of an improvement. The GSA has firmly moved into open caricature, which the GS’s already where on at a more sublimal level for years. People complained about the GS1300 oh the headlight hate, hate. But I don’t decide on what people say never have been a sheep, I will decide when I arrives in the showrooms. Is the difference really only the tank size? The prices are starting to fall on the standard GS1300 so maybe wait 1 year, then can afford it🤷‍♂️

Aw, that bit about your sales work influencing your sleep in such a strong way was a bad sign. I do however suspect that the brand can have a lot to do with that. As a Beemer seller you automatically got positioned in the demanding ego-driven part of the market. From both sides actually. People who tend to be oriented on the status aspect and basically want to buy THE status bike and even want to upgrade on that by adding (still mass produced) stuff. example: I went to a GORGIOUS Yamaha XZ 550 meeting in Bavaria last week. At a certain moment we where passed by some gargantuan off road vehicle pulling a big trailer with 2 fully fledged GS’s on it. The parrot colours of these signaled little was stock about them. So you buy the biggest “adventure” bike full of panniers and such and then transport them to your destination? What I am trying to say is: How can you please such people and the equally ego driven sales environment their status oriented, materialistic demands will automatically lead to? A nice more diversified local dealer of the “we love every bike” sort could be a very different environment. “You just sold another cheap bike? Hurray! The more the merrier!”
