It's a real disconnect of where your food comes from. My uncles would hunt and use everything they could because you don't kill one of gods creatures only to throw it out. I'm not very religious but I still think it's a giant waste to only use popular cuts and not the rest of the animal. If someone fed me pig ear and I liked it I wouldn't start dry heaving just because it's my dog's favorite treat.

Beef cheek is considered to be one of the best cuts of the cow, more tender than any steak. And rare, because there's not much of it. And tongue, I worked in a Jewish deli, where it was a best seller. Neither are cheap. I can't believe she feeds them to a dog!

I get my dogs the fancy expensive kibble and my dogs are very fond of it but when I run out I substitute with eggs, chicken and beef depending what I have in the house. I heard somewhere that humans test dog and I think maybe cat food to make sure it’s fit for the animals, and nothing poisonous or bad is in it. I’ve never personally had any animals organs, tongues, or feet, but if you (meaning whoever, not one single person) like it, great! I’m personally kinda grossed out by the idea, but if it was blended up with other meats or cut up and served like any other meat, and you didn’t tell me what it was, I’d probably eat it just fine. If it didn’t look like what it was and was seasoned nicely like any other meat, I’d at least try it, just for curiosity’s sake. (I’d try beef tongue if it didn’t look like a tongue.)

0:05: Lara absolutely deserves to have locks on her doors. It's not her fault her mom doesn't discipline her sons for being unruly. And the dad is no help either. If she's able to, Lara should just buy the locks herself. 3:23: The girlfriend wants to bond with her boyfriend's kids, but then he lays them off at his brother's despite the fact he works a demanding job and didn't have the time to watch the kids. Sounds like a big time red flag. Some people just can't see beyond themselves. 6:06: I get pregnancy cravings and all, but I think she should have used a bowl for her ice cream since she was a guest at her MIL's. Would have been a different story if she still lived at home. 7:22: I don't believe family recipes should been given away to non-family members. The girlfriend overracted. Plus, this reminds me of a number of popular foods. They may taste good, but don't ask what's in them.

About the pregnancy story, u might not have all the details. How I'd eat ice cream or other snacks depends on whose house it is and how close I am to that relative (I would grab a bowl if I was at a cousin's house, but I'd eat it from the carton at grandparents house, esp since it's not even a flavor they like and they usu buy a small size). She might be used to eating ice cream like that at home and the fact she does so at in-laws house might show how close she feels to them, esp since they (in-laws) went through the trouble to buy food to accommodate her cravings. They got the ice cream for her and it didn't sound like they were going to eat it, plus its not mentioned if goddaughter regularly visits, and she was the only one who had issue with it, it sounded more like MIL was annoyed by the argument between the two than OP eating out of carton.

My sister was staring at the plate with a mix of disgust and horror. I told her that it is rude to refuse food offered by your host. "my wife told me to please play nice and share" what is his wife on?? Just as OP said, it's a family recipe, who he decides to share it with should be his decision and besides that, it's the brother's girlfriend, not wife not fiancee, there's always the chance it doesn't work out, plus he didn't mention if they were on good terms or not, so its not like he's giving recipe to a friend. The girlfriend ought to be ashamed of accusing OP of serving dogfood. Just because she feeds the same cuts to her dog doesn't mean it is only for dogs consumption, OP should've told her that and pointed out he bought it from a butcher, so where's her argument that those cuts are specifically dogfood.

She's going to fail from lack of studying anyway & that's entirely the parents fault. Put rules around the locks about when she can lock the door if theyre visiting. FFS she probably has no privacy either, are you letting them barge in when she dresses too? If she gets locks, she must respect their rooms too... no sleeping in others rooms unless invited. But get her the damn locks & make sure your younger children don't switch to constantly knocking her door. This is less about a lock & more about you parents neglecting to parent your sons! When she leaves for college, don't expect her to come back, she's going to LEAVE & I don't blame her.

Beef cheeks are so delicious and tender. Also not a cheap cut. That lady needs a reality check and some culture.

1st story The girl should get a lock I mean what's the big deal about getting a lock? And her brothers are 8 & 11. They are being naughty on purpose and the parents need to tell them to stop.

4th story I can relate to the girl. I absolutely feel disgusted about some meat, specially some body parts that humans have too. Like imagine eating something and then finding out it had a tongue of an animal. The boy should have told them the ingredients beforehand. I am a picky eater and if I find out my food has something I don't eat, I will definitely throw up so I can completely understand the girl.

@@user-mAfuNqrSe020x just because something is expensive doesn't mean people are obligated to eat it. Some meats are prohibited in some religions, do you plan to secretly give it to someone because it's expensive. Just stfu. It's not that hard to say what's in the food beforehand. I bet people will still enjoy the food.

1. I think OP is an AH and a terrible mom. Lara wants privacy and if OP doesn't control the kids, Lara should have locks in her room and her room only. Why can't the kids play somewhere else instead? 2. NTA. Why can't the brother takes his kids? The fact they showed up at OP's workplace is just weird. How does the boss reacted? That's my question. 3. OP's an AH. OP can't eat at a bathtub, because what if there's germs? 4. NTA. The girlfriend is out of line. It's not like people eating food. She's is just overreacting and dramatic.

About #3, I think there's a misunderstanding here... they were talking about the ice cream carton. I personally call that a tub as well but 8 know people that don't, so I can see where you're coming from though... kinda... no idea where bathtub came from...

For the last story, i feel that the person who cooked the meal should've informed first about what meat he's going to use. I don't really care about what cultures or what people eat what kind of meat, but personally, I've never eaten beef tongue and cheeks and honestly, it sounds gross for me. When I say gross, I'm not judging other people who eats them. It's just gross for me and I'd rather not take part in a feast than to eat those.

I have taste and texture sensitivities and one of my biggest pet peeves is not being informed of what I’m eating before I’m expected to eat it. I’m very cautious and weary of new foods. I’d be extremely pissed if someone fed me types of meat I’ve never tried before without even thinking to inform me, but I would never insult the food or culture, just explain about my paranoia around food.

3rd story The pregnant woman is being gross and overdramatic. I can understand that she is pregnant but why is she crying over something like this? Probably wants attention.
@arandomteto
@arandomteto Жыл бұрын
No, this is a common experience among pregnant women. She may just need to comfort eat or it may be due to hormones. Either way, people should ask to eat other people's food, that situation could have been avoided.

How are you doing my friend? How are you feeling? The daughter is 17 years old and she's basically a young women compared to her pre-teen brother whose 12 and her little baby brother who is just 9 years old. She is going to move out sooner than later because no one respects her privacy. I love you!!
