I absolutely love the new intro, perfect personal touch! Please do not leave halters on the horses. That could have ended up so much worse. You are all lucky that is all that happened. I can not tell you how many broken necks and / or strangled horses I have found or heard of because halters were left on. I don't know what happened with the other vet, but I simply adored her. She was amazing, very thorough, and not willing to give up. She dug deep into finding solutions.
@PonyTalesRefuge9 ай бұрын
All of our horses who need halters kept on have breakaway halters on. That is why the halter was horseless once found lol. It broke! Some horses are very hard to catch and in order to be handled to get the cares and such that they need, they need halters on.

I’ve just come across your channel and have watched a few videos already. I love how everything is explained and when Paulie and the vets come, actually explain WHY something is being done and how etc. That’s awesome. Those three little cuties are just adorable. So very cute. I absolutely love Kit. What a beautiful, kind horse he seems to be. Just a couple of questions if you don’t mind? Firstly, when training the horses, do you not train them to walk up to the mounting blocks, OR a fence etc BEFORE you start tacking them up, and then again BEFORE you start putting weight on their backs? I’ve just always thought that that is what they need to learn before actually being trained under saddle. If already trained under saddle, wouldn’t you train them to walk up beside the mounting block or fence etc? Lastly, just wondering whether you give the horses a groom, even a quick little one BEFORE you take them out for a training session etc? That way they get a little bit more love, and it’s a bit of a bonding session, also hopefully relaxing them before they have their training session with you? I just wasn’t sure whether you do do that but it’s just not filmed, possibly because it’s an extra five minutes or so, that’s all. So incredibly sorry if the questions seem negative, that is certainly not my intention. Simply just asking that’s all. Keep saving these beautiful souls. It STILL amazes me that there are still people out there who don’t take care of their animals. How could anybody not, especially when you look into their gorgeous sweet eyes? You are doing such a sensational job saving all of these poor, precious and neglected souls. THANK YOU♥️ Sending love and thee very best of wishes from Melbourne, Australia♥️
@PonyTalesRefuge9 ай бұрын
Hi Tracie. Good to have you here! Your questions are valid. As far as the mounting block, etc goes, what you saw in this video was initial training evaluations. That means we take the horse for what it is. Will he/she stand at the mounting block or know to do so? We don't know. We basically "assume" to a certain extent that they know these things until they show us that they do not. We then move on from there. Not all horses know mounting blocks and they've always been mounted from the ground. Just because they won't stand at one does not mean they are not broke to ride. It's just something they don't know. After the initial evaluation where we learn what they know and don't know, are comfortable or not comfortable with, we go back and start working on/filling in those holes. And yes, the horses are groomed to the extent possible in this weather prior to tacking up, etc. Sometimes it's filmed, sometimes not.

Love your vets! The new gentleman seems very kind, and definitely knows about horses. I think I heard Dr Kristin has quite a distance to travel to help you, and with I am sure a heavy workload, it is understable she can't come so often. Especially with the roads so bad in winter. I don't know if I have missed an update but how is Dr Jim now? The last I saw was that he had been injured quite badly so couldnt work for some weeks. I love his laugh, as soon as he started chuckling, so did I. Please send him my good wishes. Sending love, hugs and prayers from a very windy Nottinghamshire, England. Storm Islet is battering us tonight! I think you are all simply amazing! P.S. If you ever need a laugh, play Cindy on video but increase the play speed like I accidently did! I thought she had been sniffing helium at first, her voice was so funny 😅
