My husband is a Vietnam Veteran. Some of his training was at Fort McClellan in Anniston Alabama. He talks about how more folks knew about Bear Bryant but could not remember the name of Alabama's governor.

That is so true. Bear was one of the best known figures not only in Alabama but in the entire south.
