RABBIT HOLE ... well I rode to where they killed sheriff Pat Garrett. Tried to take the same route he took. After further investigation there is a lot to this story.
Watch This: • Who killed Pat Garrett...
Watch This: • David Thomas on Killin...
Thanks so much for coming along on the journey with me! It just wouldn’t be the same without you!

Old South Dog Boxes
These guys build the best dog boxes I’ve seen!
I was looking around for a company that made dog boxes that would fit in my Side by Side and couldn’t find anything.
I got in touch with Old South Dog Boxes and they are able to make custom builds!
They are building me a dog box that will fit exactly what I need.
They make a diverse range of dog boxes, dog trailers, and bird rigs for bird hunters.
Check them out and let them know that Brett from Born 100 Years Too Late sent you!

Ellis Canvas Tents
I reached out to Ellis Canvas Tents because I was just not too happy with my sleep system. I had seen their products before and was really impressed with the "Cowboy Bedroll". They sent me one to try and can say that so far it is the best I have used for Cowboy Camping.
Soon I hope I can get one of their Canvas Tents

My daughter lived out there on Dunn road. Not to far from that marker. I wanted to go find it, I never did. People say there’s always fresh Flowers out their ether real or plastic. He still has descendents in Dona Ana county. An old Rancher friend of mine over at Animas told me that his grandad had the livery in Organ in those days. He said that his Dad and 2 of his brothers were on their way back from Dona Ana with a load of hay , and came upon that murder. The body was covered , and lotsa people had showed up by then. My great grandad meant Garrett in 1898. My great grandad was only 14 working for freighters between Hope and Tularosa. He said Garrett and 2 deputies traveled with them for a day , then camped with them. He never believed Garrett killed the kid. He always thought that the Sante fe ring wanted and paid him too, because the kid was bringing national attention to their corruption. His death was faked, Garrett wrote a big BS story. And the kid died an old man in Prescott after living in Ramaha NM, his whole life. Well that was his story. Good vid , Brett. Keep that NM history coming.

I think so, too. I also wonder why Billy was buried so quick. Such a notorious “outlaw”, who had been on the run so long, you’d think they post him up in a coffin in town for bragging rights. His deputies even said, when flipping the body over, “you shot the wrong man”. I THINK there was another Billy in Billy Antrim’s group. I think that, failing several times to get Billy Antrim, Pat shot first and then buried the body quick and lied about which Billy it was..

That just got by me , glad to see you talk about it. Looked like Bonnie was wanting some more hay or something while you were talking . Kind of got a kick out of that ! 8 ) Funny , I watch another YT channel out of Las Cruces , you might even know the guy. His channel I called " Muddy Water Catfishing " Kris , Umm can't think of his last name. You wouldn't believe the big ole flathead catfish he catches out of the Rio Grande ! That’s one place in that country I never actually stopped by and looked at. My father had old Polaroids of the site from the early 70’s…. Think I might just head there the next time I visit Las Cruces…I read the book about Colonel Fountain way back and I actually married a descendent of Oliver Lees… I didn’t know that until after we were married and then I gave her crap about it. I might ask some of the folks, if I ever see them again, what their oral history about their family that came from that mess of people you named in this video. I know one of those families descendants that owed my parents a huge sum of money from their charge account. I asked my mom about it way back and she told me that the man told them ( my dad and my mom) that he didn’t pay his wife’s bills… my mom finally burned the old box of unpaid charge accounts from many folks in that area… but that one family always had that stigma that hung over their heads with myself… some 55 years later

It was probably a buckboard carriage, I don't think they have springs like a coach or a buggie would. so, yeah, it was bumpity bump on the rumpity rump, lol. Anyway, yes, I would love for you to dive deeper into the story of Garrett's demise, 'cause he was a rustler in the same gang and William Bonney, and he MURDERED him. I really want to spend an elongated visit to the Las Cruses, Alamogordo, Lincoln area. So much history, and beautiful country. Thanks so much for your videos.

I think It’s best that you leave the history lessons to Steve with side track adventures. if I hadn’t seen that episode earlier this year I’d be heading for the liquor cabinet by now. I do enjoy your enthusiasm though 😂

Awesome, first trip eh, I can relate to your last vid, I walked over 163 miles according to watch gps, behind young tree dog I was starting last year, having to keep up to watch and fix eh, and bonding. Coming up season I can just unsnap her with older dog and just stand and wait. These tree dogs different than hounds, better to work young dog seperate than put them right in with like your lion hounds.
I Found a Google Earth Bonus ... and was SURPRISED!
