@@empoweredcrb23 Seems like it hahahahaha. From Yahoo Fantasy: ''Tom Thibodeau's beloved power forward was just recently added to the Knicks, but he still likely needs to get his conditioning up to speed before he's logging rotation minutes. It's possible he'll simply be a an emergency depth guy on the roster, which is what he'd be on most teams, but that's far from guaranteed given Thibs history. We dont expect him to be a fantasy factor at all, but it's possible he could mess with Mitchell Robinson's minutes at some points.''

As a die-hard Twolves fan, I wish this guy nothing but happiness. I know he was a bust and didn't live up to expectations, but it wasn't for the lack of effort. He was a stand out teammate and person while in MN as well. The biggest issue with DWill was always his lateral quickness. He could jump, he could bang down low if needed, but he couldn't stay in front of any body. Not even centers man. Anyways, that's enough of that. I hope he has success over seas and I hope he gets another chance in the NBA.

I'm a fan of D-Will heading to the 2011 NBA Draft, it makes me sad that he is not on the league right now, but I still follow his games (highlights only), because I don't understand the CBA or Euro League all I understand is the NBA. I think D-Will was just drafted on the wrong organization, because the wolves already had Kevin Love, Wesley Johnson and I think Michael Beasley I think was already there too. There wasn't much room for Derrick Williams to grow there as a player and I just knew today, for all the times I've been following D-Will's career I didn't know coach Rick didn't liked him. For he was just drafted on the wrong team. For me personally I really wanted him to be drafted on 2011 back then I remember wishing for it, because LeBron James just left the Cavs and there is an open spot for the small forward position and that would be great for D-Will because he will have a lot of great opportunities there and coach Byron Scott was there. I really think he would have develop into a much better player if he was drafted on Cleveland or any team that would give him opportunity to reach his full potential. Aside from the Cavs I also wanted him to be drafted by the Raptors, not just my favorite player is gonna be on my favorite team but also he will really fit there. Being drafted to the wolves really messed up D-Will's development as a player. What I saw on D-Will is, he can't create his own shot, I mean he can do it sometimes but most of the times he needs a pass first PG or any teammates that would set him up, that's why I really love it when he got to the Kings, because there was Isaiah Thomas, Vasquez, Miller, Cousins who can set him up not that Ricky Rubio didn't set D-Will up as great as those players from the Kings but have more opportunity on the king but, then.............. Rudy Gay came to the kings and that's it for D-Will. On the NYK he was great there even though there was Melo, Quincy Acy, Lance Thomas, Kristaps who plays his position but they have Calderon who sets D-Will really good, I really wished the Knicks signs him back then. On the Cavs though that was the best opportunity to him although, coming to the league I wanted him to be the Next LeBron because their build is so much a like and they both wear the same number, but that year on what he has become as a player, who can't create his own shot, who needs someone to set him up to dominate, LeBron James was the best fit to do that, and LeBron really did a great job it help D-Will make his two 10-day contract into contract that will make him finish the season with the Cavs, but wasn't given that much opportunity on the playoffs and I really think if Derrick Williams was able to play more on the finals, I think he could have made a difference on the defensive end guarding KD, I'm not saying he will stop KD, but we don't know maybe he can or maybe he can't, but I really think a young athletic Forward like Derrick Williams would have been a much better defender than Richard Jefferson who was 30 plus years old at time. wooooooooooh that was long hahahahahaah anyways I really hope Derrick Williams can make a comeback on the NBA sometime, I know that has a small chance of happening cause it's not like D-Will is dominating the other leagues, his stats aren't even that good, but atleast I can watch him on the NBA, cause I love the NBA.hahahahaaha

The league moved in a direction that you would think benefits his skillset. As the video points out being a tweener/combo forward was considered a weakness in the early part of his career, but by the mid-late '10s (theoretically his prime) smallball had picked up, I am always surprised he never found a role as a smallball 4. Maybe it's a case of playing for the wrong franchises or trying too hard to live up to his draft position, never settling into a role and playing within himself.

It's sad how players who came in to the NBA between 11-17 had the NBA change under them. Lik Okafor.

Maybe you could do a video on how european bball works with all the international and domestics leagues and the formats of the aforementioned, I think there's lots of interesting stuff, especially to an American audience since most americans don't really pa attention to anything other than the NBA

He had a great March Madness for Zona which shot his stock flying. He got overhyped. Unfortunately, he was not athletic enough for the 3, and definitely too small to be a 4 in the NBA...basically was doomed from the start.

as a wolves fan, i gotta say being drafted into the wolves is already half way into the bust list, i swear if the wolves drafted steph instead of flynn in 2009 stept will be the bust and flynn will become the star

Only reason he was drafted so high is only because of how he torched Duke in the Sweet 16. Change my mind 💅

Yea, I remember that game and I also remember the effusive praise Charles Barkley gave him before and after that game (I even remember him picking them to beat duke in the pre-game show). That duke game was a great performance and his hype def did take off after that game and gave him more "substance" in the eyes of people cause he beat a (frankly mediocre) duke team. Great athlete and I always thought he could have been a more offensively oriented James Johnson type in the NBA but sadly that never panned out. At least he will always have that duke victory!

Being a Duke fan myself I saw this loss coming as soon as we beat Michigan in the second round, barely. 1) Duke doesn’t have success in the West bracket, Sweet 16 at best. 2) The entire season the evolved a story around the nations three leading scorers (Smith-Duke, Walker-UConn, and Fredette-BYU). Every week the leader would change and Smith was playing the most consistent basketball all season until Irving came back from injury, the touches he got decreased. 3) Segway from the last statement: Smith was the most consistent player all season for Duke and Singler was in a funk since the Oregon game. Smith was locked up defensively and Singler went off against Arizona. 4) Arizona shot over 60% I believe in the second half and that’s tough. We didn’t have anyone to matchup physically against Williams and he had a field day with Ryan Kelly. After those two dunks of his, I knew we were gonna lose.

Derrick Williams & Rodney Carney, 2 players who because of their athleticism, thought would be stars!! They showed me there's more to it than that though.. Williams is a true hip-hop fan. I used to see him at underground shows in Sac when he played for the King's. Hope both are doing well! Carney played in the Big 3.

As a Turk who has been a Fenerbahce fan since childhood, I can say that he was a good player for us. He played together with Jan Vessely who was also from the same draft year as him. He failed in the NBA but I'm glad he was good for us in the end unlike Anthony Bennet who was trash, even for our standards.

Since 2010, only 3 players made the all star team who ever was selected number 2 in any draft since. That just shows how much it sucks to be selected with the second pick. Some carve out some great careers and amazing careers but others under achieve and sometimes gets too injured as well.

As an Arizona fan, him busting was shocking because how much he absolutely dominated in college. All you need for proof is his game against Duke in the NCAA tournament. Arizona was not even supposed to win, but with DWill, they destroyed a very good Duke team by 20.

Derrick Williams is a hot commodity around European top clubs, having second or third option roles on Bayern, Fenerbahçe and now Valencia, and he has very well adjusted himself to European basketball, he seems happy in Europe, and we are all happy to watch him ball out every week. Is he a NBA bust? Yes. Is he a complete bust? Hell no.
