As a Saints fan, it sucks the No call happened. All the older players on the team are leaving or aren’t in their prime anymore. They would’ve had a chance to compete for a SuperBowl, but they may never get that chance again. About MT dude was our best WR in Saints history, talent wise, and he was on a Hall of Fame trajectory if the injuries didn’t happen. Another thing people don’t understand, is he played in the playoffs on Drew’s last year against the Bucs injured, but he did that to try to get Drew his second ring. He knew it could damage his career but he wanted Drew to go out as a champion again. I will always have respect for him for doing that. Dude was a leader and great mentor for the team and I honestly think he would’ve resigned to the Saints, if DA wasn’t here. Now I will say the medical team didn’t help at all, for years every Saints fan would tell you how horrible they have been. One injury that he had was misdiagnosed and is the reason way he is injury prone. He wasn’t lying about the medical staff on his way out. If they treated that injury I highly doubt his body would be as broken as it is now. I could say the same for a lot of the players that played for the team. Oschner’s been kinda mid on the Saints staff. As a patient of them, I’ve been good, but the players haven’t. Overall I hope he contributes to a contender and wins a championship. I will always route for him, unless he goes to the Falcons lol
@17thN.O7 ай бұрын
All that is true and that "NOLA No Call" did us in for the foreseeable future and we haven't recoved since. MT was on his way to a historically great career, but playing through that injury has costed him. But I have a lot of respect for him. Also I had neck surgery at Ochsner and several family members have been treated by them so I know that they have been great. But I don't know why they haven't been good for the Saints or Pelicans for that matter.

Injuries really robbed us of a potentially HOF career and he was right about being on pace for 1k on 2023, Carr did not look that great and there were multiple miscommunications throughout the year, I can't imagine having to deal with bad/midldle of the pack QBs after developing the kind of connection he had with Drew when you hold yourself to such a high standard. People seem to forget what received always put his body on the line and made the most contested catches for us consistently, he truly was the best during his peak. The reason why the refs didn't call pass interference @the 6:11 mark of this video is because some games are fixed.. The refs have a lot of control of the games outcome.. For example the new NFL rules allow offensive linemen to hold every down so the refs can call holding whenever they want because it's happening every down.. You can tell which team they want to lose by how many petty penalty calls the refs make against a given team.. What happened to Detroit last year(2023) against the Cowboys in week 17 is a classic example of the refs determining who wins !

That, and Brees threw an ugly interception in overtime. Then you clowns have the audacity to distribute petitions for a do-over, and you wanna sue the league??! 😂🤡 The better team won the game. Cope.

Also, his game was slant routes, they call him Michael Slants for a reason, and this is a deep ball, YAC league. Those two things combined, hurt his career.

Michael Thomas was an absolute elite pairing with Brees. Brees was a model of consistency when it came to accuracy and decision-making. Thomas wasn't going to burn anybody. However, his route running, big body, wingspan, and baseball mitt hands were perfect for a QB like Brees or even Bridgewater who was also consistent in accuracy, avoiding forced misplaced balls while being a surgeon in short-intermediate throws. Thomas got spoiled, big-headed, and his antics turned him into a diva. That aside, he was still a great WR but the ankle and knee injuries were to much for a elite possession guy who requires separation. Those injuries took away that 1 extra step he had and he couldn't just box out guys every play. He was good at it but that's too much physicality for someone injury prone in their later years.

Sean Payton ran this man into the ground, and got him almost no help in the passing game. (The only real “WR2” option he had was Alvin Kamara) The man basically became the RGIII of wide receivers.

He got placed on IR two times in the same month of November 3 times? What are the odds of that? I genuinly Believe him about that structure of the levels about majority driven careers run by an owner. They expect you to be a yes man! Never in my life did being a yes man ever accumulate anything worth living for. Which is why God had always placed me in position to be my own boss at whatever career I pursued

As a Buccaneers fan I’m kinda glad he went away. We got terrorized by Julio Jones’s for a decade, thought we had another one to deal with

People forget Herman Moore ,wr Detroit in the 90’s put up these kinda numbers too with Mid to low level Qb’s …Herman Moore also has almost double the career TD’s with almost the same Amount of career catches ..Thomas has 565 for 36TD’s . Moore has 670 for 62 TD’s . Not discrediting Thomas but Moore has an argument at least on stats

M. Thomas was good when good when he had Drew throwing at him but after he retired M. Thomas sustain injuries which has slowed him down, his production has dropped mostly because of injuries.

As a Saint fan it hurts to remember all these moments. MT was and is a great player but from the distance I always thought that his admiration of gangsters was an issue that would eventually cause problems. Maybe it fueled his off the field attitude. We all Saints held our hopes up until the day he was released.

Brandin Cooks is my cousin. Michael Thomas was a blessing to get him off the Saints. 🙏🏽

Teams like the Chiefs, Rams, Bills, 49ers, Ravens, Packers, Chargers, Vikings, Bengals, Cowboys,Broncos, Panthers, Patriots, Commanders all should be interested in signing Michael Thomas

Packers fan here, we don't need him because the Packers already have 4 talented receivers in Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks. Maybe if Michael Thomas was in his prime several years ago then probably

He got hurt (major injury) because Shawn Payton played him at the end of a game with maybe 2 minutes left in the game and his team was beating the opposing team pretty bad! Dumb coaching move ….lost the best receiver for nothing!!!!
