this is a great comment because everyone is so quick to say the other greats did it in the era of no supercomputers and not many tourneys. In his prime, Bobby Fischer was almost unbeatable, like Magnus. But he also brought chess to the attention of the world by beating the dominant Russain GM's. Plus he was a pretty athletic and funny guy, watch his appearances on Bob Hope. Yes, later he had mental problems.
@emranahmed5711
@emranahmed5711 Жыл бұрын
@@SteveK77536 Yes, i agree. I love Boby. Who doesnot? But you have to Understand the gap of chess knowledge Between one generation’s best player vs his generation’s top players. Today Even a 13 years old GM knows almost the same as Magnus in case of theoretical knowledge. Everyone has access to stockfish and other engines . I think It's really difficult to beat a GM by a Super GM today. In this era, the consistency Magnus has been showing for more than a decade is incomparable.

I hope he competes in the next Fide Grand Swiss. I don't know which one I think is the hardest to win between that one and the World Cup, but I would say it may be the Grand Swiss just because the format makes it so that you absolutely have to take risks of you want to win the thing, a draw is almost a loss in a Swiss format.
