Great work! Traction alopecia is reversible if there is no scar tissue. Should have gone straight goatee for a cleaner look, sideburns lacking. Sponge should be avoided if you have thin (can see scalp) or 4C hair (tangling your hair).

If you ever comb out locs again, I'd recommend using water and conditioner. It will be less painful for the client, minimize hair loss, and overall just make the job easier.

I hate getting stuck in situations like these at the shop. I had a kid with shoulder length hair come in and wanted curtains with a taper. Turns out kid didn't know how to actually scrub his scalp when he washed his hair, so it was almost dreadlocked underneath the surface. Haircut probably took me close to an hour and a half. It's haircuts like that where I wish I charged by the time the haircut took.
