I had stage 4 cancer.. a tumor in my neck the size of a lemon was removed.it was also in my tonsils. . .It had spread to 1 lymph node. ..I had 7 cemo and 37 radio therapy sessions with a mouth stint ad mask... ..I didn't lose my voice slivia or taste ... It did take me a long time to recover. ...now I am nearly 5 years cancer free...I live in Ireland. .I am very grateful to all the doctors in 2 different hospitals. .They saved my life ...I am a better person and also a grandmother to a gorgeous little boy who I mind most days we have great fun ...5 years ago I never would of belived my life would be normal again...dreams I never even dare dreamed for myself came true ....you need to stay strong ad pray ..dig deep u will find the strength. ..try to laugh everyday ...you our will make it too...I am praying for everyone going through this ..👼

I have more side effects from radiation therapy than chemo. Chemo just made me tired. But radiation is brutal. Suffering from dryness, thick saliva and no taste. I went from 238 lbs to 212 lbs. I just hope my taste comes back and saliva. I read alot of people who didnt get it back and are still struggling with side effects.

I've had cancer 5 times in the last 11 years and this is the first time I've had radiation. It was to the head and neck. The worst thing I've ever been thro! It's been about 7-8 months and my taste still hasn't come back completely. I had every side effect u could have while going thro that treatment. I had chemo three days a week and radiation every day. I still have trouble with dry mouth and thick saliva. A month ago I had all the lymph nodes in my neck removed and that's been a nightmare too. Still had some side effects from the radiation and this just magnified everything. I hope you're doing well

I have swollen lymph nodes on both sides, under my chin area. They have been swollen since before October of last year. There is no pain, and I have had tests, and have no infections. I have been on steroids and antibiotics already. With no change in my lymph nodes. I am scheduled to see an ENT tomorrow. My Dr said he is worried it might be cancer. I have no clue what kind or anything. I'm scared, and I don't know what to expect. I also have severe itching on my stomach and chest. Mild itching all over my body.

HI Katie, I went through six months watching lymph nodes swell. Finally when I had my biopsies I was diagnosed with Head and Neck Cancer. It is beatable, i am three years out from my diagnosis and treatment. How are you? What was the outcome? It does get better, I promise!

@@karlhans6678 I had swollen nodes, a horrible running nose and congestion before I was diagnosed. Following my biopsies, I had a modified neck dissection, tonsillectomy and my tongue was skinned from near the top of it to the base of it. Following surgery I had 35 radiation treatments, no chemo. I would highly recommend going to see your ENT, they will do a fine needle aspiration to pull liquid out of your lymph nodes for examination. Please don't wait.

I have come across 2 pea sized lumps on my neck. They don’t hurt and are moveable. I don’t think they’ve grown in 2 weeks but I’m not sure - 1 of them might have gotten larger. (1 is around 1cm, the other may be 1-1.5cm) Honestly, I’m too scared to get it checked out. I’ve had 2 phone calls with 2 different doctors who have said they think it’s nothing to worry about but I can’t help but worry. They don’t hurt I have a cold/sore throat and have in the past had a sore throat too - I was informed this could cause swelling of the glands (they’re just below my ear, on my neck). Does anyone know what I should do? I’m so so nervous about getting it checked out - I’m only 15 and the anxiety is getting to me, even after being reassured by doctors that it might be okay (but they haven’t physically seen it) The lumps are not visible to the eye, only if u touch them.

I have one somewhat hard, around 1cm at the back of my neck and I don't think it moves much.. I have no other symptoms but I've had it for a loooooong time and now I'm getting sudden anxiety about this. My mom's pretty knowledgeable with medicsl stuff and says she had them in her teens too and it's almost certainly nothing but I'll get it checked anyways, 16 here btw. This is old but maybe I'll get a response. The inside of my neck simply hurts....the pain comes and goes. It's not a particularly bad pain just slightly annoying from time to time. It usually occurs more at night and kind of dissapears in the day time but it's random. The pain is slightly above my trachea. It feels on occasion like I have a pill in my throat, but there are no lumps that I can feel anywhere on my neck, not even where the pain is located. I'm a HEAVY drinker of alcohol and use chewing tobacco regularly. I have no difficulty speaking, drinking, swallowing or anything, infact, when I eat the symptoms just momentarily dissapear or I don't notice it but it comes back after I'm done. What in the heck could possibly be wrong with me, this has been going on for like 4 days now.

I am watching this video trying to figure out what has been going on with me. Start off by saying I have no family doctor!! I live in Nova Scotia lost my Dr right before I noticed the lumps in my neck in 2018. So ya I noticed 2 lumps on the side of my neck I was rubbing sun screen on I never paid a whole lot of attention to it they do not hurt at all but last year and a half I've become worried they have slowly gotten bigger very very slowly and I have this pain in my right ear it's pressure and pain all the time now everyday I have gone 2 outpatients twice now 1 nurse practitioner told me to take allergy medication another in told me to go to message therapy ( I know right what a joke) This is the care us people with no doctor get in Nova Scotia it is truly pathedic point blank period... I don't know what to do or where to go anymore I know something isn't right and my ear pain and preasure is getting is really uncomfortable lumps over 4 years are still there they are not surface lumps they are deep and now u can physically look at my neck and u can see the swelling from them. I am on thyroid medication I'm 45 and have been on it since I was 5. I would except any advice at this point I can get. I can't get anywhere here outpatients so busy they are trying to get u out the door. I need to see a real Dr not a nurse practioner I have a 12 year old daughter who's dad passed when she was 18 months old she needs her mom healthy. I have no idea where to go next or what to do, any advice would be helpful... I would like to take the time as well to everyone who is dealing with that C word and say I'm so sorry, and may god bless and heal you all❤

My coworker was a very healthy person, never smoked, or drank alcohol, she went to bed n just never woke up. She died of natural causes n she was only 27.
