I caught a good large mouth with the head hunter and unfortunately lost it after about 40 to 50 casts. Just bought more and saw the Amazon swim baits but was hesitant... Now I wish I had bought the Amazon ones, probably still will. Thanks for this video!

Definitely the Megabass Dark Sleeper. The others don’t compare to the Dark Sleeper. You get what you pay for.

Trusend isn't too bad, I had some of thier stuff and it's not bad for the money, it's not top quality and some lures had defects, but not bad. My mega bass ist here yet, but I'd imagine it won't have any defects. I'd like to see if the hook is better and check the plastic a bit more compared to my other trusend plastics.

@@PelicanBoneOutdoors Up on the St Lawrence the introduction of the goby made the smallmouth fishing on the St Lawrence 1000 times better. Where I used to be happy with a 1 lb and a half fish now I see lots of 2 1/2 and up.

The headhunter is best as a swim bait using a rip, rip, pause type action. The dark sleepers are best for jigging, while you can slow swim them I’ve never had as much luck running them that way, same goes for the true sends.

I think the Head hunter is to short and stubby for the jigging. The dark sleeper definitely seems 100% better. Love the content man, keep it up

Dark sleepers are designed after the Goby fish. Apparently very common in Japan. And they have been more recently introduced to many rivers in the U.S. Personally haven't used any of these. Believe they are just a bit too expensive.for that single bait. But one day I'll givem a try. I have used a generic Amazon version. Seems to swim ok. But again...don't have Goby here where I am yet so I'm guessing that may be why I did t.habe a lot of success

Also have tried a knock of of(knock off*) the 10000 fish bait, they were given to me And it seems to have better action than the 10000 fish one does. May not be as durable. But when you get 6-10 of those and 1 of the other...yeah ..I'll stick with generic, IF! I were to use them at all.

The Dark Sleeper is not really for grass. It’s to fish on the bottom more like a jig. It will hang in cover. It also catches fish, a lot of fish for me.That other bait looks good too.

Good video. I honestly think the head hunter looks more like a "dying" fish than the other two. But for the price and versatility... You Really can't beat the truscend design. They look pretty good. Just too small for me and the bass where I live. That's the size lure that the crappie eat here. A bass won't touch something that small unfortunately.

the dark sleeper looks like a native sculpin or invasive goby. they are all over in lake erie (ohio) they hide in the rocks and eat everything they come in contact with. we call them smallmouth candy up here but I don't think we can fish with them so this is a good alternative.

The action seems fairly similar but my guess is that the hook quality could be very inferior. Presentation is extremely important with finicky bass. My time and money are so important nowadays, that I don't want to handicap my chances on cheap or inferior knockoffs. I will be more open minded if my fishing buddy catches and lands more fish.

Thanks. No, you can not. Chasebaits has a lure called the RIP Snorter that comes with an extra hook that you can swap out. It’s a pretty cool lure. Surprisingly durable but it’s almost $13.

I have every type of the 10,000 fish, the Berkeley agent E, both megabase dark sleeper and the gill killer, and I’m a be honest with you that’s got to be swim and fish on P gravel bottoms and dirt any type of rock structure if you’re bouncing like a jig you’re gonna rip the rubber up and then by the time you go set a hook on the fish they don’t want it look at the structure you’re fission before you throw any one of them lures! But I’m a be honest with you I’ve been fission for Bess for over 10 years I do tournaments I live here in Baltimore Maryland and a lot of our reservoirs are all electric motors and we have some spots that got gas motors like to Toyota series up to Susquehanna and Potomac but I’m gonna be honest with you I Berkeley Gilly what’s a Berkeley fusion Shakey head hook works great inside there and when they bite down on it they bought the hollow part of the head and hooks him same style hook in a 10,000 fish at least they can’t throw the hook in a 10,000 fish it’s all about who’s fishing it how do you present it and how your presentation is back to back sessions like a football game on Sunday anything can happen from one Cove to the next but I like your video Brother

That "weird fish design" is a goby. Lake Erie now has so many gobies that anglers are making claims of consistently catching 75-150, 6-9+ lb smallmouth bass per day on nothing but goby-mimicking baits. The invasive gobies are so prevalent that a once threatened species of Lake Erie water snake has totally rebounded. The claims are so crazy that Lake Erie is now on my bucket list to fish...and I'm not really into bass fishing!

Truscend is not a Chinese rip-off. 95% of all lures are made in China. Truscend is owned by Buffalo Creek Fishing Co. Out of America, not a Chinese company. And everything is a rip off. The dark sleeper wasn't the first pre hooked swimbait. All megabass did was make it look like a goby to have a fin to hide hook. And now when anyone makes a precooked swimbait even if it don't like like megabass, everyone cries rip-off.

Agreed. Every thing is built off of something that already existed. Sometime it’s an improvement, and unfortunately some times it’s not. ( not talking about the baits, just in general. )
