A production style right out of several 1980s MTV style desert videos. "Tears to Fears" come to mind, (the video style NOT the song), and there were others also. Probably because some of those MTV videos were shot in the deserts of So. California. Great song and video acting by the Altar Billies once again. It lifts my spirit and makes me smile. I'm a musician, ex-pro bass player, who appreciates real talent in music and these guys and their video producer have it. It's more than just the Rockabilly music, but their Rockabilly is firing on all 6 cylinders also.

Thanks Jay Ray, that was a fun video to make. It was filmed at desert center (halfway between LA and phoenix). We got shooed off the place, but finished up and headed for the open country!! 3 cheers for our producer chad at Kountryjoe productions.

Who does the concepts and storylines for your videos? The abandon gas pump fueling the upright bass is outright hilarious and ingenious along with the associated antics of the band members. Maybe I shouldn't be asking these questions here and have you revealing your secret formulas? Nevertheless, the visual artistic humor is really great and entertaining....Pro quality stuff. I watch a lot of you tube videos, including from big names, and I find yours some of the best. I watched your live performances and wondered if maybe some your live performances should include visual props, and even video screens to add visual interest, besides 3 guys standing there playing instruments like 100 other bands are doing. There are a few high end local cover bands around So. Cal doing that. You wouldn't want it to get too extreme outside of the Rockabilly tradition, but then again, your videos are somewhat outside of tradition so???? Food for thought. Just trying to help out. I don't know how serious you are taking this Altar Billies act. Is it full time Pro, or is it just a part time activity?RegardsJR

Jay Ray, we usually have a basic idea of what we want to accomplish in our videos. Everyone in the band gets their say so about different shots. The filling the upright idea was johnny and chuck's idea - they just went with it and it worked. We try not to take ourselves too seriously, however we do take our music and production very seriously - if that make sense. The goal is to put some clean humor into the "videos" - if we can bring a smile to people's faces, then all the better. This is not a "full time pro," although it does take a lot of time. Each of us have really good jobs that give us the opportunity to play together so we don't have to "Worry" about paying the bills - we are very fortunate!!

That's even more remarkable that you can get the results you do. The pro videos are carefully planned, scripted and choreographed, but you get similar results on the fly from top of your head. What camera and editing software do you use?
