Watch two military helicopters land on a sports field next to Tidworth Camp to collect General Randy A. George of the US Army and General Sir Patrick Sanders of the British Army on a flight back to London. The Dauphin and Chinook helicopters transported US & UK personnel from the town of Tidworth in Wiltshire.
The Eurocopter AS365 Dauphin II is operated by 658 Squadron Army Air Corps in support of the 22nd Special Air Service Regiment (SAS), UK Special Forces, from Stirling Lines in Hereford.
The CH-47 Chinook is operated by multiple squadrons of the Royal Air Force for transporting troops and cargo in support of UK, NATO and allied military operations. These are based at RAF Odiham and RAF Benson.

That was a bit of a trip down memory lane for me. Many years ago, back in the late eighties, one of the first helicopters I flew in was a Dauphin that was then registered to the Trafalgar House company. Then many years further on (two years ago!) I finally got to fly in a Chinook as well! Nice seeing both types here together. Although that SAS Dauphin bears little resemblance mechanically to the version I flew in! These are seriously up engined with stronger transmission and lots of sneaky extras fitted 😊. I spent an evening chatting to the crew of one that flew into my place of work several years ago. They arrived in total darkness with no lights and wearing NV goggles. It was very cool seeing the greenish glow as they popped out from round the side of a building at about fifty feet, to touch down exactly on the marker set by the ground crew, who rocked up about forty mins prior. All very exciting!!

The SAS use them as they can deploy and blend in to normal air traffic without raising too much suspicion …but everybody knows it’s them. I saw them a few weeks ago… cold day… but doors were open and you could see em sat inside. I’m not too far from Hereford where I live.

The Dauphin had quite a bit of ground resonance as the pilot started to lift, not enough to be worried about but I would have a look at the fixed trim tab settings on the main rotor blades, that’s if the Dauphin has them, if not then the track and balance might be worth a check, of course it could be down to the weight in the back, somebody might have eaten too many pies. The Chinook was probably 7 Sqn or at least in my day it would have been, they did the vast majority of “Saturday and Sunday” air movement, and other SF stuff as well. Seeing the cyclist and the Chinook in shot together @ 7:19 reminded me of an incident in the late nineties at the Red Bull Airshow in Vienna, we were a little delayed for our departure because the Captain was a little late arriving from his hotel!!!!, but with a little bit of a accelerated startup we managed to make the slot, the captain decided to give the spectators a bit of a show and must have had the collective up by his shoulder and a lot of boot on the rudder bar and performed a “corkscrew” vertical lift from our parking slot, but we were a little close to the perimeter fence where a cyclist had stopped to see us depart, they didn’t see much as the downwash was a bit stronger than usual and cyclist and cycle parted company as they were forcibly separated and blown into the vegetation behind them………….oops, however, karma struck when we were transiting through France or German airspace and we took a bird strike, ended up landing in the middle of some training area and upsetting the troops hiding in the vegetation, probably to ambush someone else, they didn’t look happy at all…..oops.

You talk too much, and know very little. I’m in the know, so I won’t say anything as it’s funnier just to silently laugh at you, but if you think this is what 7 Sqn get tasked with, you’re a clown. Guess again.

I can't help thinking that the SAS helicopter and US Chinnok are some how related to yesterday's broadcast of The Afghan Interpreter who was assisted by The Guardian to upload his story and bad fate⁉️🤔. He was abandoned and left with a target on his back, afterwards❗🤔. Now a captive onboard The Bobby Stockholm Prison Barge❗🤔. He was shocked at his treatment after all his service and bravery risking his and his families lives by assisting the Talking Babs enemies (UK & US Military) as an Interpreter❗🤔 As soon as I heard his broadcast, I knew this was something major and repercussions would follow, before 'The Shit Finally Hits The Fan❗🤔. So far he has gathered a number of allies and supporters; MOD Police 👮🏻‍♂️👮🏻, The Guardian Newspaper, an Ex Foreign Office Staff Member who was tasked with assisting and Afghan Charity to aid, expatriate and support Afghan Service Staff, who reported with disgust how they were all to be fobbed off and left helpless and abandoned ❗🤔. We've all seen the desperate airport scenes, with frightened desperate Afghans attempting to be allowed onto the flight back to safety and the UK, but blocked and rejected❗🤔
