You mention catapult effect in these low stiffness racquet but i feel the words that better describe what you are describing (and that I know what they are because I play with low stiffness and I love it) is either trampoline, spring board or slingshot effect. What do you think? It is interesting how each person may like different feelings; I tested 66 stiffness, 68 and I just hated it how the ball just left the racquet immediately, very powerful but to my level (4.5) no control.

Nik, I must admit I wasn't the biggest fan of your racket review series at the beginning. Didn't know what to expect comparing to other instructional videos of yours. However, after several review videos, I found myself super excited seeing your latest review and I like how you format your review videos, specs first, groundstrokes next, and point play (always w/ Milan). Well organized, clear and fair comments! Thanks for making such great contents!

Nice review. I play with the Speed pro as my go to match frame. I absolutely agree it is more of a power frame with a semi open 18x20. I enjoy this frame the most with a shaped poly to get more spin. The spin helps a lot with the control issues of the Speed Pro. I felt the MP version (I liked this one too) needs the same semi open 18x20 to help tame some of the power. It feels like a more comfortable Pure Drive tour with the higher swing weight of 330.

Interesting review! I really recommend trying the Gravity series-I think you'll get better control and feel from them, especially the Pro, but the Tour is also great.
@NdRe_zA15 күн бұрын
Absolutly true, the Gravity Tour is the better Speed Pro, If you have got the power
@JLongTom15 күн бұрын
@@NdRe_zA Agreed! There _are_ a couple of things Nick might not like: I'm pretty sure the handle is the same length as the Speed's, and the Pro might have too hefty a swingweight and not be as crisp as the racquets he's used to (I personally love its flexible but punchy feel). I think the Tour stands a chance though!

I have played with the Head Speed MP and compared it to other power racquets like the Ezone 100 and Babolat Pure Drive 100. Following are some of my thoughts: - Power wise Ezone and the Pure Drive have more power. But that comes with a caveat : if you are able to control the power then there are no other racquets like them! Given the power, the serves are fanstastic especially with the Ezone 100 with the Pure Drive a close second. - Flex: Head Speed MP has an RA of 60 vs the 70 on both Pure Drive and Ezone. With this RA rating there is a lot more control and I love the control that comes with the Speed MP. I use Triax on the mains at 54 lbs(16g) and Tourna Big Hitter at 17g in the crosses at 52 lbs on the speed MP and it has good control and power! - Backhand and backhand slice: I have a one handed back-hand and both the slice and the backhand have good control and power. I am able to shift control the slice effectively and take it deep or short as I desire! Overall: I am trying to get my game up from 3.5 to 4(i know its a herculean effort!). But the control that comes with the Speed MP is helping me in this process. If you dont like comfort strings, then use a good poly in your string in the speed MP and it will give you good control and power!

I have recently switched to the speed MP and I love it. I don't have a lot of power, I am short and an amateur, so the extra power doesn't make me spray balls, it helps me a ton specially in defensive situations. The Speed MP is pretty string sensitive. Would have liked to see you try it with your normal super smash string. Your hitting partner wasn't giving you much time to setup in those points. He was smoking it.

I played several years with Speed Pro because the weight and stability was helping my backhand but it became a little too heavy and non-manuevarable for my serve and forehand under pressure. Forgot to mention, PRO is 18x20, unlike the others. It is more for flat hitting players. I switched from Aero to Speed MP two years ago and love its versatile nature. Still can grind top spin from the base line but get more directional control and feel more confident coming to the net. Racquet choice is not about finding which one is better than other, but rather, which one suits your play better than other and I am glad you stress that out in your videos.

The one I've been waiting for! Another great video. Sad that you hated it though. 😂I've demoed a few rackets but the Speed MP is the only one that I keep coming back to. The issue with the Pro is that it's an 18x20 which I know you don't like. You might like Head's Gravity line of rackets. They have a teardrop-shaped head and it's more control oriented. The MP and Pro versions have a 400 and 200 CPI so a little less power than the Speed line. Either way, hope you find "the one" soon!

I use a gravity MP with a 10grams in the handle(leather grip) the good thing about the head rackets is you can change the pallets really easy, from grip size 1-4 and they come extended so if you wanted you can have a longer grip. I tested size 3 to 1 in grip size just to find what felt right for my game, and ended up with grip size 1. Even though I have relatively large hands.

I tried the previous version of the Head Speed MP and the two handed BH felt great, FH pretty good, BH slice so so, but serving felt terrible to me. Also didn’t like the thick beam or the short handle. I use a Yonex Ezone 100 and it’s a good stick but more importantly Yonex racquets have longer handles that work great with the two handed BH. I totally agree. This paintjob , the material is so bad and the Stick Looks kinda Dirty very quick ( Clay Court) . I bought the legend Version and I like it. Not a Bad Racket, but you have to customize it a bit to tame the power.

Have you thought about testing the pure strike range , with extra consideration of the strike 100 16x20 ,you seem to be sensitive to weight between 300 and 310g and the 100 16x 20 comes in at 305g unstrung which is a good balance between weights , also has a 100 inch head which you seem to be used too and that 16x20 pattern may be the right balance between power and control for you ,boxy beam would support your slice whilst the 100 inch head would still support forehand power might be worth looking at ?

I would but last time I tested a Walmart racquet it started deforming after a few minutes of hitting. 😂

@@IntuitiveTennis This one does not deform, but the strings disintegrate within an hour so bring your stringing machine with you. The grommets are also very cheap and setup for around the world stringing only with 1.25 or larger string. I did one for a neighbor a short while back. Fortunately, I spotted it before trying two-piece stringing. 😃
