My biggest reason for going with Traxxas is they have been selling the same vehicles for many years, so it never becomes outdated. I have Associated and Losi sitting on my shelf for many years and will not run them because of fear of breaking parts that they no longer sell. Traxxas is perfect for me as I only bash around the track any more. If I was into racing again, then I would have the others.

Y'all need to calm down. The point of this is not whether it is "fair" but to compare two of the leading short course trucks someone may consider today. To many buyers, this comparison is extremely useful. Most buyers know that one model should outperform the other with the 33% price difference. The question in their minds is "why" and "how," and is the higher price worth it.

Seems pretty biased comparing a 2008 era slash to a new SC10. A fair comparison would have been a slash Ultimate or Platinum with the LCG chassis which have comparable price points.
@sudsrc82616 жыл бұрын
Comparable price points? The SC10 currently sells for $300. The Platinum (discontinued now) sells for $400 and the Ultimate is north of $500. Those two are also 4WD where the SC10 is 2WD so I don't think it makes sense to compare 2WD vs 4WD. That being said, yeah he's comparing a $300 brushless 2WD RC to a $189 brushed 2WD vehicle. So by that same standard, yeah the SC10 should be better. I suppose it'd be more fair if he upgraded the slash with the LCG & a brushless setup.

@John Lujan If you are getting it to do actual dirt oval racing, I would go the correct way in doing street stock with starting out with a buggy. I got a bandit vxl and ripped out the esc and motor and sold it for $140 and replaced them with a hobbywing esc and motor and got different body posts and mounts for the body and sold the bandit body for $25. Then I dropped the shocks with 1/2 spacers inside and 80w and 25w shock oils and put an anti slip mount and 32 spur gear. I also got associated wheels and proline tires for it and I am going to get a spectrum radio and 2 receivers so I can link it up with my mudboss as well and I will sell the stock radios and receivers. The team associated street stock isn't the best for oval racing (watch the AMainHobbies video on it) and I dont think that many tracks allow it unless you do major work on it. So its better to convert a buggy and be able to tune it yourself with getting different things for it. But I would talk to someone at your local track to see what they say about it. Also, if you go with converting a buggy, everything pays for its self for the most part after you sell the electronics and parts you dont need.

Would’ve been a better and more fair comparison, if the two trucks were more closely outfitted. As in both having 2 and 3s compatibility. Both having brushless motors, etc. You can’t compare an entry level truck, with a more competitive higher end model. Even if they were the same brand, it still wouldn’t be fair. If that Slash had a brushless system in it, it’s electronics would be better. It’s servos would be better to handle the additional stresses and Power. Almost everything on it would be of better quality, and not just because of the price. But it would be a step up from entry level components, to a more race ready vehicle. Not a fair review at all. And no I’m not a big Traxxas fan, I’m a Losi fan, so I am not biased one way or the other. For Traxxas or Team Associated. You did not do a Head To Head comparison, as it states in the title of your video.

If you want a real budget sc truck get a redcat blackout sc pro it's faster than the slash and associated sc trucks it's cheaper and comes with a brushless motor and 2s lipo

LOL: Easybto break Commenté au Canada le 1 février 2021 Achat vérifié Easy to break. Losing parts off of it licke the peice that hold the springs on the shocks Second use lost 2 Fast but no tracktion at all out of those tires

@@borisgourbeau616 well it's a Budget rc I've only broken the front shocks and stripped the gear because I have a 1/10 mamba monster running 4s , the tires are cheap but still do good on dirty and grass it doesn't have sway bars so it can flip over easy but for the price it's unbeatable it's a good quality truck all three sc truck brands can break they are all Plastic ...Hobao sells a sc truck that's around the same price that comes with a metal chassis and lil more upgrades than the stock ones that Traxxas , Redcat and team associated have to offer
@chrisk99113 жыл бұрын
Why the hell are you comparing these two side by side and pointing out things about traxxas that was made in 2008, which was a complete innovation back than! Now everyone is carrying these trucks and you are comparing it to a truck that’s double the price and complaining about tires that are t the same, are kidding me, do it things right or stop making videos!

Preloaded review from a bias person. You know you just ruined alot of peoples opinion in under 15mins about you. I don't even like Traxxas but I wouldn't be this way about it.

entry level vs racer.... the 10yr old base model traxxas holds up well in this comparison, but you still try to make it look like bad lol
@RazorRC4 жыл бұрын
ManuelOrtizification I don’t need to make it look bad, it IS bad. I’ve also spent $1000 upgrading my Slash into a race truck, and it is better than the ProSC10 then. But just barely.

Razor RC I have both and I race 3 times a week and I'll put my slash up against and other manufacture and win 95% of the races I'm in ... Just saying !!!.. btw it's not stock so I may have a slight advantage

Why you reading that? I own a Maxx, TRX4, Rustler and used to own 2 slashes, 2 slash 4x4’s and a stampede 4x4. So you might be wrong. I just call it like I see it.

@@RazorRC Chill man. I was just jokeing ;) But you complain a lot about the slash. Btw. Thank you for this video. You helped me to chose the traxxas slash. And I got a vid with it on my channel. Got the 2wd brushed OBA 😅

INFO MUTT I’ve owned 7 Traxxas vehicles and 8 Team Associated vehicles. I wouldn’t call that biased at all. I know it’s hard to believe, but the ProSC10 is a better truck.

Dude, that’s apples and oranges. Traxxas is junk. Team Associated makes real RC cars.

very poor comparison. Sure seems like a lot of people race Traxxas. Maybe you should have compared the vxl version? Durability sure doesn't seem like an issue on my slash. Have a losi baja rey also so no fanboy.

EBthere pull your hingepins and kingpins. I bet half of them are bent and you don’t even know it.
@RazorRC5 жыл бұрын
@@EBthere well, personally I've bent nearly every hingepin on this truck, and this is a pretty common problem that other people experience. I feel they are the softest hingepins I've ever had on an RC car I've owned. IMO, Traxxas uses pretty poor metals on their 1/10 scale -- shock shafts, hingepins, and pinion gears are pretty low grade steel.
@EBthere5 жыл бұрын
There we go. All fixed and I won't give my opinion on your videos again.

@@EBthere Sorry, didn't meant to come off that way, it's all good, I'm glad to hear your opinion. For SCT, I've raced a stock Slash 2WD, Slash 4x4 VXL, fully modified Slash 2WD, Associated ProSC10, Associated SC6.1, and TLR 22SCT 2.0. If you've had better luck with your Slash 2WD, maybe you're a better driver than me and crash less! 🙂
