Watch #1: Vintage-inspired BND with a lovely patina and overall distinctive “tropical” aesthetic reminiscent of the 1950's horological aesthetic.
Watch #2: Noor, which translates in Farsi to “Light.” Features a conservative, vintage design.
WRIST CHECK: Paul’s Watches
Watch #1: 18k Yellow Gold Vintage Rolex Daytona ref 6263 circa 1978. The watch is a newer addition to Paul’s collection and is in mint condition. The original owner took extra measures to safeguard his beloved Rolex, engraving his name and even his social security number onto the watch.
Watch #2: Patek Philippe 5970 Perpetual Calendar Chronograph. The coveted watch was on Paul’s radar for a while. Fortunately, he was recently able to add one to his legendary vault.
WHO IS MORGAN KING?
Paul and Morgan met at the Paul Newman auction preview - the history-making auction where Newman’s personal Daytona sold for a staggering $17.8 million. Interestingly, both also attended Boston schools.
Q: How Did You Get into Watches? What Was Your First Vintage Watch?
A: A notable point in Morgan’s watch-collecting journey occurred in a watch shop in LA in the early 2000s. There, he found a TAG Heuer Carrera Re-Edition. He realized that it wasn’t just any ordinary timepiece but rather an homage to the first original model, which sparked a genuine interest in the watch.

Watch #1: Vintage Rolex “Paul Newman” Daytona ref 6263 with screw-down pump pushers and a white Panda dial.
Watch #2: Vintage Omega Speedmaster ref. 2915-2 with iconic broad arrow hands and the famous caliber 321. As the inaugural Speedy, this watch is what legends are made of.
Watch #3: Vintage Omega Speedmaster ref 2998-2 with beautiful, consistent lume.

Watch #1: Vintage Paul Newman Rolex Daytona ref 6241 circa 1969.
Watch #2: Vintage 2-Liner Tropical Dial Rolex Submariner ref 6538 circa 1959 with red triangle bezel.
Watch #3: Vintage Rolex Submariner ref 6200 that once belonged to an admiral.
Watches #4 & #5: Vintage Tiffany Dial Rolex Daytona ref 6263 circa 1979 & rare Cartier Dial Rolex Daytona ref 6240 circa 1966.

Unbelievable, great interview with Morgan King. I love seeing his collection and the story about each watch. He is absolutely a true watch collector. It’s also nice to see different types of brands. Not the same Rolex and Patek. This is why Morgan’s collection is rare and different.
