I have a Tisas 1911 DS 9mm Carry 4.25in and it's the best handgun I've ever owned! Tight slide with tight groups and only 1 misfeed in over 850 rounds! I think my son was limp wristing it when the sole misfeed occurred so I don't think it was the gun's fault. Tisas makes an awesome 2011 and I'm definitely a believer now! Classic firearms has a crazy $100 sale today on them and you can always get one on Buds firearms. GREAT GUN!

Just purchased the Mac ds 1911. Just waiting for it to arrive. Looking forward to it. Very good comparison. Very positive review of both.👍🏼
@mikechurchill10715 ай бұрын
There is actually a difference between a 2011 and a double stack 1911. The 2011 has a modular grip that you can remove from the frame where a double stack 1911 is all 1 piece be exchanged. The verbiage has been getting used interchangeably lately but that's what I read numerous times as office definitions. Love the video!!

With all the issues the Prodigy tends to have, and nobody knows if they'll get one that runs or not, the MAC should be the pick.

Only the first gens had problems.
@desertsoldier412 ай бұрын
The problems were mostly with the disconnector being stiff and an unramped breech. Doing a disconnector spring adjustment or making a marvel cut fixed those problems when using a light recoil spring.

@cam2ss1le144 ай бұрын
I recently purchased a IWB holster for my MAC 9, going with the Tier1 Concealed MSP holster. This holster fits numerous guns, including 1911 style, as it is based off the light securing the firearm. I use the Streamlight TLR-1 HL lights exclusively. Great holster, by the way. Tier 1 is a great company.

TISAS seems to be better than both of these choices. CNC is not a type of metal . CNC is a machining process. I believe what you SHOULD have said is Forged Parts vs MIM Parts. (metel injection molded) Drop Forging is a process to make the toughest metal parts. Its how good wrenches and sockets are made among many things. CNC machining can be performed on about ANY metal part. The Mo You Know. . . . .

The MAC 9 DS 1911 is a TISAS designed by Military Armament Corporation here in Knoxville, TN and made by TISAS in Turkey all the same forged 4140 carbon steel used on the TISAS duty and carry models only better in my honest opinion due to it coming with the 4.25 inch bull barrel we all love, its RMR optic ready and it has full size flashlight picatinny rail unlike the carry model which a lot of people are having problems with mounting bigger attachments to them. I just ordered my MAC 9 DS 1911 today it was about $1,000 and some change but im very content with my purchase. TISAS is definitely the way to go, even the firing pin is titanium on all of them. Shitting all over U.S.A made Springfield Prodigy.

@kameronturner10147 ай бұрын
New subscriber. Keep up with the good content. The forged Mac has a very positive safety engagement using the physical right side paddle safety. It is 100% in my personal gun and the few others I have handled. Every prodigy’s ambi I have shot the right side safety has SLOP and only activates/ deactivates the safety maybe 75% of the time. This is no good in defensive or competitive uses. This is a common experience with MIM safeties in any 1911..I am a lefty and is the first thing I check with any 1911 patterned gun. Try it with your 2 examples. This is the reason I bought the Mac. Also check the wear patterns on the 2. This is a great cheat code into how the gun is made and wearing. The prodigy is good but the Mac wear patterns are better as the wear is shared across multiple bearing points.

You need to fix your grip when shooting a 2011/1911 or any gun for that matter. Your strong hand thumb should sit on TOP of the thumb safety not below it or else you’ll accidentally bump it into safe under recoil. Secondly your support hand isn’t contacting the frame at all so your recoil control will never be great only having your strong hand do most of the work. The meat of your support hand should have nice contact with the frame. Just some helpful tips. Plenty of good videos on here explaining what I’m saying
