Biryani is the real Nawab of Mughlai cuisine and Eid festivity is never complete unless you have had a plateful of lip-smacking, finger-licking Biryani!
If you happen to be in Lucknow, Eid or no Eid, you must head to the old part of the city to have 'Lalla ki Biryani'. It's a nondescript shop, but it's quite famous so it won't be too difficult for you to locate it. Either people will guide you to it or the aroma of Biryani being cooked on slow flame will pull you to the shop.

Being a Hyderabadi my love for biryani is obvious but I really want to taste Lucknow biryani once. Well one thing is for sure as I see the cooking method which is different from Hyderabadi Biryani and none can topple Hyderabadi Biryani from top. Also it doesn't mean others are bad but second best.

I used to be a devoted fan of Lalla Ji during early 2000. Inspired by his biryani, I tried to make Lucknowi dum biryani and with 15 years effort, now make, well quite decent biryani (although not like lalla ji)
