Outstanding presentation. It needs to be updated for the management of Migraine with Calcitonin Gene related Peptide Blockers which works as treatment and prophylactic. Thank you for your hard work and efforts

Well, I only have a comment. While I was pregnant, I had the worst migraines ever. I ended up in the ER three times, because I really felt That my brain was breaking, and because I was pregnant, I couldn’t take any medication other than Tylenol, which whoever suffers from cluster migraines knows it doesn’t work. My first two ER visits, ended with morphine iv’s. I was afraid of morphine because I was pregnant, but they said it was safe. But on my third visit, the ER Doctor was smart enough to check my electrolytes. And BIG surprise! I had almost NO POTASSIUM in my blood!! He asked me if I was bulimic (which I am not), and instead of giving me morphine this time, he gave me potassium. I was released that same night and since then (13 years ago), I supplement with Potassium and my migraines are almost gone for good 😀

Only one thing I wished was there, which is the presentations themselves. Each time I watch your videos, I have to write down everything you say, which is also just there in the presentation.

Actually a good thing - that way you can rearrange stuff and use your own words => concepts will stick longer

Brudzinski is about lifting the head up (not leg) right? Positive Brudzinski is patient lies supine, practitioner lifts neck and patient feels pain and bends knees...

on the migraine headaches, the lecture says its less common after menopause. I read it is more common after menopause because of lack of estrogen. It is also worse right before onset of menstruation because of dip of estrogen

*During* perimenopause and the onset of menopause, yes, in some patients it's worse. But *after* menopause they improve. In general, migraines improve with age in both women and men. www.m.webmd.com/migraines-headaches/news/20070608/migraines-may-ease-with-age

I've had headaches for most of my life - until fairly recently when I stopped my sugar binges - in my case the dietary aspect seems to play a crucial role - I wonder whether anyone else had come to the same conclusion.

I'm allergic to triptan derivatives, ergotamine, Zofran and Topomax...I'm already on Elavil and Propanolol...and now I can't have oral NSAIDS. WHAT THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO TAKE TO ABORT A MIGRAINE?!?!?!
@teamworkformyfrainds7 жыл бұрын
being allergic to triptans make things tough but you need to control your migraines anyway. calcium channel blockers work for some people. that's the only other medication you haven't tried. what happens when you take triptans?
I have severe headaches every day for over 18 months and an arachnoid cyst in my left cavernous sinus could this be the cause? All Docs say no but there are few studies.

Sam Botros the case of triptans are like NSAIDs during pregnancy, variables can be put in a risk-benefit ratio equation
