Thank you for this! I rarely subscribe nowadays, but this was a no brainer. I'm in a phase where this kind of PoV is extremely helpful, so, again, thank you! :)

Is it just me or do you naturally aim to the right of centre slightly when striking the cueball??? Either way, VERY impressed and a great insight into a solid break building... VERY Well done mate, loved this vid :)

+Game Jam HD | FIFA 16 Career Mode, Pack Opening & FUT Ultimate Team I know what you mean. I did seem to be applying right hand side on a lot of shots that day. The camera was a bit off centre too which exaggerated the effect slightly. Hitting the centre of the cue ball would certainly make the game easier. Thanks for the compliments :)

Thats what I was seeing; i say it was always running side to get attention off the cush from the cueball position. Still we cant argue with the strike rate and cueing.

The last 8 inches or so of the shaft to the tip looks a bit warped but you still deliver the shot straight. Nice cue action and consistency.

Love your stuff, great to see how the shots are struck and not just watch balls hit the pocket! What headcam do you use for this and is it a beneficial way to analyse your game in terms of striking the cue ball, i tend to find that i cue across the ball a bit especially on long shots instead of delivering it in a straight line Video's are first class by the way keep it up!

+oliver spooner Thanks a lot. I used a very basic set up for the headcam videos. A cheap Kodak mini-cam and an elastic band ;)) The advantage being that the cam was so small and light. I know other people use expensive set ups with the "go pro" etc but this worked okay for me. Picture could be sharper though. Using the headcam showed me that I'm putting unintentional side on at times and I also have a habit of hitting across the line. Always something to improve on. Thanks for watching :)

Although quality could be better/sharper it's still good enough to see how you're striking the cue ball. What set up do you use for your other videos where it's stationary? (i.e your latest one) No problem, i've subscribed so hopefully many more videos to come :)

+oliver spooner Ive been using a Flip Ultra hd for the last couple of years. The intention was always to make 100 youtube centuries when I opened this channel a few years ago but ive probably deleted 50 or 60 for various reasons. Currently on around 75 I think. Thanks for the sub :)

100 centuries you're crazy! I've only just made 50 50+ breaks highest being a 93 - only been playing the game 4 years but long way to go to get anywhere near that standard You're welcome and good luck on getting to 100 centuries, how many maximums you had?
@bottlecap57
@bottlecap57 8 жыл бұрын
+oliver spooner It was only recently that I started trying for a max. Never thought I could get one but had a couple of 146's one day and then got the 147 not long after. Only used variations of the line up routine though but still.... All 3 breaks are on the first page of the channel. 93 is a great break. Took me 5 years before I hit my first ton and ive been at it for 33 long years now.

We should all note how this shooter freezes at the end of the shot. Show it to your friends who spring up instead.

You make the game look so easy. I guess you don't do classes :). in london that is. Been off the table for a while, could do with a little polishing up. my eyes are everywhere when striking the cue ball to the object ball. (*!*). good vids.

+Abdul Miah Sorry, no I don't' teach and I live in N. Ireland. Ive never had a lesson either, just picked it up by watching and reading a lot about the game. I'm lucky that I live very close to the club I play in and it costs so little to play.-- Yes it can be difficult to keep your eyes on the target area on the object ball but that is where you must focus to give yourself the best chance of success. Good luck :)

+Scott Germanicus That sounds very expensive, £6.90 to £9.90 but I suppose that's the going rate in some areas. Not so bad if youre playing with someone and the tables are top class. Very expensive for solo practice though! Sounds like a nice cue you have but give it time. It always takes a while to get used to a new one. Good luck with your practice :)

Do you change your aim while applying side on the cue ball??
@bottlecap57
@bottlecap57 9 жыл бұрын
Pool Snooker Yes, as sidespin always pushes the cueball off line. Judging how much to allow for this is just a matter of practice.
@seanditch4419

Hi, when you say 'decide where your going to aim,' do you mean where on the object ball your going to point the cue at?
@bottlecap57
@bottlecap57 9 жыл бұрын
+Sean Ditch Yes, that's a good way to think about the line of aim.

Noticed he doesn't usually draw the cue all way back, as advised elsewhere. So perhaps better control.

why do you aim and hit on the right side of the cue ball all of the time?
@bottlecap57
@bottlecap57 9 жыл бұрын
matthew ryder I think the camera angle is slightly across the line of shot which makes it look that way. There are ofcourse times when i intend to put right hand side on but its something i'll look into anyway. Cheers :)
