What you said about the health of the fishery is spot on. You are correct about the Tampa Bay fishery being excellent. I think the biologists @ FWC are doing a fantastic job with the recent extention of the closure to this area.

My Dad has been gone 46 years. He was almost 42 when he passed. But we made enough hunting and fishing memories to last a lifetime. Sure, Mom, and my sister went fishing sometimes. But when it was just 'the guys', those are the ones I cherish most. Take your Dad fishing now! Be as sure as you can that he'll hook into something (one never knows, so just getting out is an experience itself). Good luck!

I noticed you released the first snook. How many of the fish did you three take back and eat, compared to what you released? Not sure if snook is edible or what size it needs to be to keep, but it looked pretty big.

We kept 11 mackerel and released all the other fish. Snook, redfish, and trout are all closed through next year.
