So i jsut tested this out. I asked "write a short skit in the style of a jake and Amir sketch about the two of them playing rocket league" [Setting: Jake and Amir are sitting on a couch in their office. Jake is holding a controller, while Amir is sipping on a cup of coffee.] Jake: Alright, Amir, let's do this. We're gonna play some Rocket League. Amir: Rocket what? Jake: Rocket League, dude. It's this awesome game where you play soccer with rocket-powered cars. Amir: (looking confused) That sounds dumb. But okay, let's do it. Jake: (smiling) You're gonna love it, man. [Cut to the game. Jake and Amir are playing Rocket League. Jake is driving his car around and trying to score a goal, while Amir is just driving around aimlessly.] Jake: Amir, what are you doing? You're not even trying to play! Amir: (nonchalantly) I'm playing, I'm playing. Jake: No, you're not! You're just driving around in circles. Amir: (shrugs) I'm getting the lay of the land. Jake: (frustrated) Dude, this is not the time to "get the lay of the land." We're losing! Amir: (laughs) Losing? This is just a game, Jake. Relax. Jake: (angrily) Relax? We're playing a competitive game and you're not even trying! You're making us look bad. Amir: (smiling) Who cares what other people think? We're having fun. Jake: (sighs) I give up. You win, Amir. You win. Amir: (grinning) That's right. I always win. [Cut back to the office. Jake is sulking on the couch, while Amir is gloating.] Amir: (laughing) I told you, Jake. I'm the Rocket League king. Jake: (sarcastically) Yeah, congratulations. You beat me in a game you didn't even know existed five minutes ago. Amir: (smiling) Hey, I'm a quick learner. What can I say? Jake: (shaking his head) You're impossible. Amir: (patting Jake on the back) Thanks, man. You're the best.

(They begin playing, with Amir quickly taking the lead) Amir: (laughing) Oh man, this is too easy. I'm like a rocket league god! Jake: (frustrated) Come on, Amir. You're just getting lucky. Amir: (scoffs) Luck has nothing to do with it, my friend. It's all about strategy and skill. (Jake manages to score a goal, tying up the game) Jake: Ha! See, I told you it was just luck. Amir: (smiling) Or maybe I let you score that one to make it interesting. (Jake groans as they continue playing, with Amir managing to score another goal) Amir: (celebrating) Woo! Game over, baby! I am the champion! Jake: (confused) Wait, what? How did you win? Amir: (grinning) Like I said, it's all about strategy and skill. Jake: (skeptical) Uh-huh. Sure it is. Amir: (laughing) Hey, don't be jealous just because I'm a pimp and a philosopher. Jake: (shaking his head) Whatever, man. Let's just play again. (They begin another game as the sketch ends)

I love that they have worked Jake’s canon pedantry into the sketches. In early episodes I think Jake was so devoid of humour just to serve as a foil for Amir’s wildcard, but his character’s lack of humour is something they increasingly address in A&J Watch - it’s nice to see that character aspect get the screen recognition is so deserves.
