While this trail crosses Black Canyon Creek about 11 times and Turkey Creek maybe once, the trail is called Turkey Creek.....Why? I have no idea, but I do know that back in March when we ran this trail, the water was flowing pretty well on Black Canyon Creek.
We had 8 rigs rolling that day and the weather was just awesome. This trail is rated difficult on various off-road apps primarily due to a rock ledge that puts you off-camber on the side of a cliff, that drops off into the creek. It is a cool obstacle but a spotter is definitely a good idea.
Turkey Creek trail is about 10.5 miles. Surface is packed dirt and rock. The creek crossings are mostly river rock and one or two crossings with a sandy bottom. The day we ran it, a stock Jeep might have taken a little water at the deepest crossing. The water level changes by the day during the season and the summer I would imagine it will be dry unless there is a storm.

Awesome, I had been waiting for this to drop (I saw it on your IG) I will say its a fun trail. When I did it with my buddy Brent we came to the same conclusion that the "hard" obstacle looks worse when you stand there and look at it, than it really is. When we were at the cleator bar recapping everything I said to him, that last 1/3rd of the trail really bounced me around inside my jeep a lot, then 5 seconds later I said, but I already want to do it again and laughed. The "circle K" had cracked me up too.

Totally agree that it looks sketch. I had a great spotter and once through it said to myself, oh, I am done? HaHa. We also had the perfect water flow in the creeks which made it fun without getting flooded out. I forgot about the Circle K. Had to do a double take when I saw that. We had a great time out there.

Where's the turkeys? Arizona has a half dozen turkey creeks and only 1 actually has turkeys!!

Yeah, definitely didn’t see any turkeys. Surprised we didn’t see any wild burros though.
