In this AU Edd and Tord are soldiers of a certain kingdom. They have known each other since childhood and are the best friends. Tom is one of the generals of the royal army (he is of a similar age to Tord and Edd). Tord and Tom hate each other. (wow my only AU where it is as it should be xD) Their kingdom is at war with the seven barbarian tribes. Among other things, thanks to Tord's great war skills, their kingdom won. Tord is rewarded and promoted to general. However, the celebration does not last long, as Tord receives news of the remnants of fallen barbarians attacking his home village. Tord asks the king for permission to take the troops with him and go to the rescue of the villagers. However, he receives a denial. Frustrated, he goes home alone, with only Edd. They came too late. The village was destroyed and someone very close to Tord died. Tord is in total despair, learns that Tom convinced the king not to send troops, explaining his advise by the weakness of the army after the battle. Driven by hatred and grief, Tord confronts Tom, but Edd breaks them apart. Tom tells Tord that he is sorry for what happened but thinks he made the right decision. Tord tells Edd to choose between him and Tom. Having received no answer from his friend, Tord walks away in rage. Edd begins to notice that Tord sneaks out at night. She learns that Tord has gone to the barbarian headquarters and plans to join forces with them to take revenge on the king who betrayed him. Edd heartbroken tries to persuade Tord to withdraw, but his friend is already too obsessed by revenge. Tord kidnaps Tom. The King learns of Tord's betrayal. He is a very dangerous opponent who knows the fight and the secrets of the kingdom. At the same time, he is the only man capable of reuniting the 7 barbarian tribes. The king, however, agrees to Edd's plea, who sets out for the last time to try to reason with Tord. (here we come to this PMV) Edd meets Tord in a rock fortress of one of the tribes. There, however, his former friend shows that he has adopted barbaric customs, wears animal skins and a deer skull as the crown of the new king of the united tribes. Despite this, Edd tries to reach his friend and stop the bloodshed. However, Tord shows him a chained beast that he intends to use in battle. Terrified and confused, Edd asks about the monster's origins. She is horrified to hear that this is Tom whom Tord has turned into a monster as punishment. Devastated, Edd understands that his friend is long gone and runs away. Tord lets him go. Edd mourns the loss of his best friend and Tom, and returns to the kingdom to tell the king it's time to prepare for war.
