Headlight restoration, rattling PRHT top, cracked grill, random fixes! | NC Miata

As a 2010 PRHT owner... I also adore this content. I come from having only old muscle cars and brand new cars, so when I purchased my 2010 finding information was hard. Everything was NA or NB. This channel, along with Colored in Light and a few other random channels, have saved me so much time and headache.

i had rattle in my soft top model. it was 2 screws that fell out inside the latch housing .large torx ones. just incase anyone has a difficult to trace rattle,

Regarding your top rattle, it is most likely to be caused by the two metal parts that tighten into recesses on each side of the car above the windscreen, these can bind on the recesses causing a cracking or rattling noise sometimes. The fix for this is easy, get two thin self-adhesive felt pads and attach them to the underside of the top of each recess, so the metal parts in the roof tighten against them when the roof is closed and latched. This not only stops the noise, it also tightens the fitting of the roof, minimising wind noise. Hope this helps, it cured my NC roof noise 100%.

@@arturpytel9940 not sure it would require a picture, its just a couple of self-adhesive felt pads stuck to the inside / top of the recesses where the roof clamps go. It solved my roof noises 100%

Done something similar with electrical tape. Just added 2 wraps on each pin where it settles in to the windshield body. Rattle disappeared immediately. Over time (2 years) it got pushed back so just took off old and re did the process. Same result

I had the rattle issue, one day I came across a rubber peace used for edge of doors and it perfectly fitted into the gap of the plastic and completely stopped the rattling sound.

It's funny how much our NCs are alike, other than the top and wheels... I have a similar aftermarket head (mine is Kenwood) patched into the stock Bose setup, I have the same dimples from the license plate bolts, I'm replacing my grille because it has a crack in it (bought it that way), I am dealing with top rattle issues, and I put a ND shift knob on mine. The issue I have with my stereo is the wiring and the converter box for my steering wheel controls take up enough room that getting it all back in there so everything snaps back together is a challenge. By the way, what did you do to make the trim around your grille black instead of chrome?

i have the same problem with me stereo, i loss the tweeter's sound at right, but the bass get sound, so i'm going to check my electrical wiring, if you know the problem please tell me, thx for the content

I left a like, but once again, you reference another video you've previously done (tranny/diff/turret oil change), but without a link to said video. Maybe you're hoping we'll search through every video you've ever uploaded hoping to find the one you're referring too? Thereby spending more time on your channel, more time watching your videos, leading to more KZbin $ for you? I don't know how all this works, but I suspect my time can be better spent elsewhere. I've enjoyed much of your content, but have played this game long enough. Good luck and best wishes.
