My old kickboxing trainer always used to say this, Bas Rutten always used to say this: In a streetfight, go straight for the balls if possible.

Upperslap the balls here really works. Even if it doesnt fully hurt, the reflex will make the agressor lose his lock to defend his parts.

The first thing you should try is to get out of the headlock. This is actually a last resort method for when you can get out, but he can't take you down. As the person giving the headlock, your goal is to bring it to the ground and get the other guys back. The guy in the headlock is trying to not be in a headlock. Also as the guy giving the headlock you should not be using an over hand grip, with your free arm. You should be lo king it is and pulling with your hooked arm because it is stronger and actually under tension. Pulling with you free arm does nothing basically as it doesn't know it's trying to squeeze a dude because it's just hanging around. .

Coming from a Jiu-Jitsu background I really like this headlock defense. It's a little different to the one I'm accustomed to, and I like having multiple options to defend myself in case one fails or the person knows how and is fast enough to stop or counter it

👍 great video. For training purposes, we always use the analogy of pretending that we are standing at a parade with our families and someone comes up and attacks us. And then we do our techniques from there.👍👍👍

2 people being killed out of 26 million in a month is statistically negligible. Checking out the statistics, Australia seems to be on par with the EU/European countries (e.g. Germany, Netherlands, Austria, etc. though a few countries are a bit better). Your perception seems to be distorted by the news. Also, you will not be able to defend yourself with techniques like this against a stronger man. Martial arts can help with self defense for women too, but it's mostly about situational awareness, reaction and mindset. Oh, well, and it takes *a lot* of practice/training. And constant training. It's not worth it if you are not interested in the art/sport itself.

Good tip, I say learning how to get out of any type of head locks should be one of the first things a person should learn about fighting. its super important because it's a very common submission move that almost everyone naturally uses in a fight and it is very effective and hard to get out of if you don't have any idea of how to escape it. so you definitely don't wanna fall prey to anyone who uses it on you especially if there really strong because if they put your lights out it's over for you especially in a street fight. And you don't wanna know what your opponent will do to you once your out cold like that, they could pretty much do anything to you at that point because you will be completely unconscious and thats no bueno for you gents.

Escaping a headlock involves a few key steps: Stay Calm: Don't panic; keep a clear head to assess the situation.Control the Arm: Use your hands to control the arm that's around your head. This will prevent your opponent from tightening their grip.Lower Your Center of Gravity: Bend your knees and lower your center of gravity to make it harder for your opponent to maintain control.Create Space: Use your free arm to push against your opponent's face or neck, creating space between your head and their body.Rotate Your Body: Turn your body towards the side where your opponent's arm is wrapped around your head.Counterattack: Once you've created enough space, swiftly counterattack by striking or grappling your opponent to regain control of the situation. Practicing these steps with a partner or under the guidance of a qualified instructor is essential for mastering headlock escapes
