Thank you for this video. I am a teacher and have not yet succeeded in finding what I want to suit my needs. I need a very comfortable headset (as I teach online for about 4 hours daily). But I need to be able to hear my voice as well as my students' voice very well. I bought a Steelseries over the ear headset, with an attachable mic. However, the problem is that I do not hear my own voice well...so I keep talking loudly and getting sore throats because of that, still I hear my voice all muffled up. Can you advice please. I want something you can use for a long time, so some over the ear headset but with noise cancelation (where I can hear my own voice like there is no other voice in the world + hear each of my students' voice as well as that)....I tried Apple airpods pro, and it was great I could hear my voice with no other surrounding sound, but I did not try it with other people talking to me, only I was recording something myself. (I was told that for long use, it is best if I get an over the ear headset) I guess I am looking for an over the ear headset which has the same qualities of Apple airpods pro where I can hear my own sound + my students' voices like there are no other sounds in the words.) Please advice what is the best I could buy for my job. Appreciate it.

neither is the maker of this video given his recommendations. Not that they're necessarily all that bad, but they certainly aren't the greatest of the great. Also He didn't talk about the majority of important things, yes he did talk about the "types" of builds, and through some words around like "sound stage" but he didn't mention frequency response at all, nor brands and their differences, or what difference between headphones are objective / opinion based vs which ones are flat out bad and how to determine that.

If you know how to wear in ear earphones properly and get some that fit properly, in ears all day Imo. I haven't tried many over ear or on ear headphones but from the ones i have tried i would prefer earphones without a doubt. Also, as far as bang for your buck goes in ears will be better due to how compact they are, more noise isolation and, like he said, better build quality.

(This coming from not so much a gamer but an avid music fan) My first pair of headphones were cheap, blue, awkward Sony "studio" headphones that I can't even remember the actual name for that weren't really either over ear or on ear; my upgrade from those were some dollar store-esque red-on-black headphones. Then after I broke those by smashing the in-line mic, I was able to get some grey and electric lime Skullcandy Hesh over ears that had some amazing bass and comfort compared to my other two experiences. Though, unfortunately, my sound started to come from only one side and it was a problem with the jack, so I had to retire them. I want to stick with Skullcandy though, so between the Crusher for it's bass and the Hesh 2 for it's Bluetooth capability, which should I choose?

@NCIX Tech Tips Good video. Did you get paid by the manufacturers or are these headphones just your favorites?
@redditreflections19768 жыл бұрын
I'd wager they've been paid to promote at the very least these brands. Lot of major brands not being represented, frequency response isn't even discussed, nothing to help "us" determine factual differences between headphones and opinionated differences. You can say Beats by Dre suck and no one can really argue given how god awful their frequency response is, anyone who likes beats by dre would like the sound of something else infinitely more if they get to experience it. But you there could be some Cheaper Grados headphones that are better then some more expensive sennheiser's even if senn is a better brand and the more expensive headphone has better specs, if the grados are closed back and have better frequency response for the genre of rock music your listening too, then they're better for you, in your opinion (you being Random person in the story as opposed to actually being you specifically)
@driftking70589 жыл бұрын
When I go out and get a pair of headphones, I look for four things: They HAVE be on ear or over the ear. They have to be in my price range, which is usually no more than $25 but more often closer to the $10 range. A microphone of some sort is a must have as well. And the connection should be made via a 3.5mm TRRS jack. Many sound junkies out there are probably going "This guy doesn't know real sound" and I won't disagree; every pair of headphones I've ever owned has been a cheapie, but I recently discovered that low price doesn't have to mean "Worthless hunk of plastic". I went to Walmart a while back with my grandma. My pair of $10-$15 Sentry Stereo Headphones HM960 had just suffered a wire break near the jack, and I loved those headphones so I was looking for something similar. What I found was a pair of Nakamichi NK 780 headphones for ~$20, so I told my grandma I'd put them in the cart and buy them myself at the checkout. By the time I got to the front of the store, my grandma had insisted on paying for them despite repetitive refusal of that on my part, but I finally broke down and let her buy them for me. Soon we were back at her house and I was opening the headphones, and I tried them out with my favorite track at the time, Surface by Aero Chord (Still in my top ten). I was expecting identical performance to my previous pair, but I immediately noticed they were a touch louder, which made me bump the volume down a bit. I kept listening happily, not expecting much more, but then the bass hit. My eyes opened wide, my jaw dropped, and my pupils dilated; I'd never heard that portion of the song with such high quality before. I remained speechless until the end of the song, and when it did end I paused my MP3 player and hugged my grandma. I've had them since October 2014, and they're still just as good as the day I unboxed them; better actually since the foam padding is broken in now. Only bad thing about them is that the text on both sides, which once proudly stated "Nakamichi" has completely worn off. The logo on both sides, however, remains just as clear as when they were in the package. If you ever want a pair of headphones on the cheap that will last (I've put these poor things through some punishment) and that have amazing sound quality, go with these. You will not regret it...

Hey, great video guys! But I had a quick question, I take the bus to school everyday (yaay college) and I'm looking at picking up a pair of Sennheiser headphones (the HD8 DJs) and I was wondering, what will they sound like coming off my phone? I have an amp at home for when I'm at my desk, but they will primarily be used as everyday headphones on the bus and around school. Will the Ohm rating be to much for my phone? or will they just sound muted when not being played off an amp. I have a GS3 but im hoping to score the new Note 4 when it comes out. Thanks guys! Keep up the great work!
@DJCryonic10 жыл бұрын
Impedance is the key for mobile hardware like smartphones or tablets. 16 or 32Ohm will work great. Anything higher need some power (80Ohm up to 600Ohm) to drive them. Sennheiser HDJ is expensive, but these are great, specially if you need the heavy isolation. But be careful outside, sometimes its better to hear what is going on around you.
@nexorabolis10 жыл бұрын
LSDind For busing back and forth to school and for studying in the math lab the heavy isolation would be wonderful haha. Thank you for the reply, the HD8s are 95 Ohm impedance, will my phone be ok driving them?
@DJCryonic10 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Sporrong Look for a 32Ohm version (or lower) or you will need a portable amp to drive them. They will work, it will be just too quiet in a busy room or outside. HD6 will be fine too, Sennheiser HD8 are killer but expensive and a bit overkill for this stuff. I would use them for DJing and studio work - stuff where i need the best headphones and where i can actually get some money back using them.
@Kuhchuk110 жыл бұрын
LSDind One of the bigger impedance issues is actually the output impedance of the device driving the headphones. The general rule of thumb is that you want the output impedance to be 1/8 or lower (for example, 2 Ohm output impedance or lower for 16 Ohm headphones) or else you'll have damping issues, such as rolled off highs and lows, resulting in awful sound. I'd recommend getting a nice digital audio player to use instead of your phone, such as the FiiO x3 or the upcoming X1 (which is supposed to retail for $100), or if you can't be bothered with that, an iPod (as much as I detest apple, the audio quality on an ipod is better than that of a phone). Power is still an issue, but for me, the bigger issue is rolled off frequency response.
@LukeShortcake10 жыл бұрын
I use HD8 DJs on my GS3 when I'm on the bus. I generally listen at one level below the maximum volume. Quieter songs have me turn it up to maximum. I like using HD8 DJs in public mainly because they have fantastic sound isolation. Just be wary that it will be almost impossible to listen to your surroundings while using them.

I use a pair of JVC XX earphones daily and paid of Urbanears Plattan on ears from time to time. I'd highly reccomend both, they sound great and are really good value for money.

Ah the XX series are very nice. I have the HA-MR55x. Those things are amazing. the wire to the circuit board did break due to my rough handling of it, but i managed to resolder it and it still works great!

I have always used Circumaural Headphones but so far, I've only found one model that doesn't make my left ear horribly hurt after a few hours of use

I personally prefer in ear, just for how convenient they are, though I currently use urbanears headphones. I know they are not the best, but a got them for really cheap since the box was a bit banged up. The headphones themselves were in perfect condition.

Beginner's guide* As an owner, I do love them, but they're not the end-all, be-all that some people try to make them out to be.

Overrated.
@jaquino678610 жыл бұрын
***** You can tell me how good the lows, mids, and highs are and how you prefer them over $1000 Sennheisers, but sound quality is subjective to everyone so don't tell me why people like them. The fact is that the ATH-M50 is designed to be a studio monitoring headphone; that alone tells that it isn't as exciting and fun-sounding as other headphones not intended to be studio monitors. All the hype about how people rave about the headphone is probably what makes them sound better in peoples' heads than they should.
@jaquino678610 жыл бұрын
What you said made literally no sense whatsoever. All the things you said doesn't change the fact that the M50 is overrated.

hey .can i use over the ear or circum-aural headphones with my smart phone ?
@winblasers28 жыл бұрын
Sure, the loudness might not be great since the speakers are big and need a lot of power, an amplifier can solver that

Question: the replacement ear pads for the hyperx, the velour pads, are they foamy soft? I wear glasses and the regular regular ear pads hurt after some time... never tried the hyperx with the other ones... is there a difference?

Are apple earbuds good? I want to buy one pair.
@3ds12Game8 жыл бұрын
They're fine. Especially the newer ones (the ones that come with iPhone 5s or newer.) but they are not super cheap. Well the price/quality is fine. Use them. Why not. But the buttons only work with apple products and no android.

What about a "What's the Difference?" on sockets/CPU architectures? Like what is LGA 2011 vs. all the others? Would be very helpful!

RHA t20i or the ath m50x ?? Sound quality alone
@LaerikYT8 жыл бұрын
+Edgardo Amado Both are similar. The bass is more powerful with the T20i. The problem with the T20i is the cable. You can't change it.
