My OCD wouldn’t be able to deal with the asymmetric placement of the speakers relative to the TV

Congratulations on your new home. God willing in a few weeks our home will be ready to move in to and I'll be in your position. I can finally take my speakers out of storage and pick up where I left off in my 2 channel journey. How exciting!

Thank you! Be careful or you'll have the same experience I did- I couldn't wait to use my little powered bookshelf speakers again but after a couple of weeks I wanted to upgrade and started subscribing to Zero Fidelity and friends :

@@MidFiGuy i can already see myself upgrading my Kef Q350's. I also wanted to try the Buchardt speakers...and Rel subs. SMH. Then I will have to upgrade my amp and pre amp. SMH.

A decent Zircon stud finder (you can get at Home Depot) is $20 with deepscan and electrical warning, and they work (most of the time). You can't totally trust reviews for something like that -source: am carpenter. I just used mine to install a wall safe in heavily textured drywall. They're good to have around when you need one. Anyway, great set-up, congrats on selling out and moving to the 'burbs- I mean, you're new home ;)

Haha definitely a sell out! I forgot what it was like to have a backyard, but I miss the food😭😭 Edit- also thanks for the trade tip on the stud finder. I had a cheapie Black & Decker and after both it and a B&D toaster oven broke I'm never never going with that brand again.

tip for the power bar usage: plug the most sensitive equipment on the socket nearest to the power cable, highest power comsumption (or noisy switching power supply) furthest away, this minimize voltage drop on the most sensitive equipment (those work on comparatively small signals e.g. a DAC) keep using power bar to avoid ground loop (caused by interconnected equipment each with different ground potential reference) if you want further upgrade, get an electrician to run dedicated circuit for the AV system: not shared by any other load until service entrance, dedicated wall jacks goes directly to the power panel, with its own circuit breaker.

Loving this “how-to” video and the before-and-after setup. Will def give the wall mount a try. Have spent way too much in the past for that. You make it look EZ! Lol 😉 Also ur kinda cute 🥰

Congratulations on your new home. When you start upgrading hifi components you will probably want to upgrade their power supply's as well.....Here you go again 🙃 We have all been there.

Congrats on the new home!!... should you considering to upgrade the TV go for Samsung The Frame .... and be careful with those audiophile devils, some of them borderline salesmen. I think Tarun, the British Audiophile, might fit your style. He gives you knowledge. Both of you are in my weekly expecting list.

Thank you! And I'm a big fan of his, humbled to hear you put me in the same category. As for the TV I think I may keep it until it breaks. Would rather put my money on audio for the time being!

@@MidFiGuy Ha! (on the tv), friend of mine just had a similar plan, but the wife said wait till it breaks (tv could last 20 years, y'knaw). I told him, for such a technical guy like him, the "breaks" can be innocently arranged :) Talking about devil huh?!

@@faridmaruf3102 LOL!! I like the idea but I honestly don't think I could outsmart my wife with such shenanigans, she'd find the truth sooner or later 😂

Did I see Triangle Bro3 and IOTAVX SA3? I got exactly the same setup. Cannot wait the second part of your video.

I suggest not to use a surge protector strip, try a good quality strip. At least try brennenstuhl premium line or premium alu line without surge protector.

Thanks, part two will be more of an audio focused conversation. Was just testing the waters of a VLOG style upload

Congrats on the house! I just re-started the 2 Ch journey too with some little bookshelf speakers that I had been neglecting. Don't even have a comfortable listening chair yet and already the audiophile devil is saying I should get a nice musical sub first...
