As a fan of DNegs for 10+ years, somebody should just explain to him that fans of any “sport” don’t want to hear from the person who loses. We don’t want your strategy on how the opponent could’ve done “better” but he’s beaten you twice. It’s just not classy or competitive. I mean no disrespect at all, I’m just being honest and speaking from a true sportsmanship perspective.

I really liked Daniel and probably always will like him, but I do must admit I am getting somewhat tired and annoyed on the lectures and attitude towards Phil. You have lost, twice. He was won, twice. Phil has beaten Antonio, 3 times. Really time to give some respect to the man. To me right now, you come across a little bit as a sore loser and I wish you would be less condescending towards Phil. I wish the hosts would stand up a little bit more on this. When he was getting into the sample size part of his speech, he was getting dangerously close to "If luck wasn't involved I guess I would win every time."😂🤣😂 Phil is an easy villain, and brings the disdain on himself, but he has been winning for 30 years. It is not a sign of weakness or a lack of intellect to have a different style of play. He doesn't have to win 100,000 hands playing four at a time to prove he is successful. He just has to win what is in front of him. I never found Deontay Wilder's style attractive or a prototype for success, but there is just one guy who has been able to take him out. It works for him.

Phil is a classy guy. So many people like to discredit his skills including Daniel. What is his response. He thinks all the young guns are great but he says i have a different style and different theories..he doesnt bash or discredit other people. Despite his antics he has a heart gold. No scandals. No cheating. In a very seedy industry. Read his background. His dad has like 4 degrees including a PHD. I think people are jealous of phil to be honest. He has a great life. Great family. Celebrity friends. Infinitely rich and is considered top 10 poker player of all time. Im actually a big Helmuth fan. He is so competitive and hates losing. I actually think that the hate over the years has made him better. He has like 5 bracelets since 2009. Daniel has 0.

All Daniel likes to do is discredit people. His ego is so hurt that Helmuth is successful. Yes Helmuth has 0 wpt titles and 0 high roller wins. He also doesnt chose to play those. Maybe it doesnt mean much to him. He also haa a family and kids. His kids are successful in life. Thats better than winning a poker tournament against Chidwick and Fedor. How many kids do you have that are successful in life daniel? Also Helmuth successfully parlayed being a gambler and winning the main event in 1989 to being a very successful businessman and business investor. He is one of the most successful if not the most successful gambler/poker player of all time. I actually respect Helmuth a lot because he isnt obsessed with poker. He plays when he plays ans devotes a lot of time to his family and business ventures. A lot more wholesome than some of these guys that spend all their lives gambling on everything under the sun. Daniel why is your ego so hurt that Helmuth has an image in the public as one of the greats (which he is; 30 years of longevity). Why are you always trying to discredit him and his accomplishments? Its childish...

Live is a battle arena. GTO principals are valuable especially if your opponent is using GTO principals. But live there is meta game, live reads and instinct. Two robots playing against each other need to play perfect GTO to win consistently and not get exploited but live Heads up is a battle arena. That 102 of diamonds hand was the perfect example..it doesnt fit any GTO models as a sensical play but he spent the entire match setting up that 3 bet triple barrel. It was a thing of beauty.

Daniel was better when he had some white magic in his play. We all saw him read hands like Nobody in the past (except Phil Helmuth ofcourse). But he lost that somewhat and that’s clearly to see in his play. GTO is very powerful but only as a complementary skill. And he should know that. The basis of poker is playing the player and read him, not if you make the perfect decision according to the mathematical optimum. It’s a bit of a shame to see him finding excuses losing to Phil Helmuth two times(in a row!). He doesn’t need it. If Daniel would find his way back to how he got so far in poker he would be much better than Phil Helmuth. Also during the match you see he loses his faith when he becomes behind. Phil then literally crushes him because he reads Daniel like a book. Daniel becomes insecure and that’s not necessary. Do your thing but respect the Great player that Phil Helmuth obviously is. Just be better, go back to your roots, and also stop that old school new school stuff. It doesn’t help.
