I started my install yesterday, but ran out of parts. Had to wait for USPS to deliver the YakAttack rail, 1.5" ball, and mount. Everything else was straight forward. Thanks to your video here. The only parts I had to slow down and figure out were the ones that you guys fast forwarded through. I got the install kit locally at Fishing Tackle Unlimited, and a Lowrance Hook 5 at Cabela's. All went together well. Ok, so the other part I had to customize was the battery holder. Since I have a hatch liner, the holder had to be rotated to the left side and the little tab at the bottom of the frame got trimmed off to keep from focusing too much pressure on the hull at that point. Couldn't mount the battery holder facing forward like described in the instructions, as liner would not go all the way down.

The recessed tray where you mounted the FF is valuable real estate to me. I'd love to see a video of a FF install onto a 9" H-Rail just forward of the recessed area.

dave schafer we usually like to install the 9" H-Rail just forward of the flush mount rod holder. You can use the hole from the flush mount cover for the back mounting hole of the rail.

Hey Don, are you looking for a video for the YakAttack GearTrac rails or the Hobie H-Rail off of the Pro Angler's?

+HEADWATERS ADVENTURE COMPANY Hi guys it was an install of a Hobie H rail off the pro angler on the outback that I thought would be an interesting video
@Headwatersadventure7 жыл бұрын
Don Morris we have done a couple H-Rail installs on an Outback. The next one we do we will definitely do a video.

So there really no sensor that goes out underneath the kayak? So how does it detects fish ? And does that battery got to remove to charge manually?

I'm planning on putting trac gear up front near the molded rod holder. so i can put a rod holder so i can troll, will mounting the fish finder when you guy had it get in my way? can you guys do a video of mounting a fish finder on the sail mount
@Headwatersadventure7 жыл бұрын
Jim T putting the fish finder where we put it shouldn't get in the way, with how the rod will be angled you should be ok. We will definitely look into doing an install video on the sail mount.

So would a setup like this be safe for covered outdoor storage (i.e. NJ in the winter)? Would anything need to be done during the season besides removing the battery and head unit after each use? Would I need to remove the transducer from the mounting plate during the offseason? Sorry for all the questions
@Headwatersadventure6 жыл бұрын
Hey Ryan, as long as you remove the battery and head unit you should be fine. There is no reason to remove the transducer plate, but removing it every once in a while is a good idea to make sure there isn't any debris (i.e. lures, dirt) obstructing it.

can i remove all the foam inside the hobie kayak or is it a bad idea?
@Headwatersadventure7 жыл бұрын
That is a bad idea, the foam inside the kayak is there for structural support of the deck and hull. Don't remove any of it.

Does the install kit come with the kayak
@Headwatersadventure7 жыл бұрын
Alex Rees the install kit does not, you can purchase it separately at your local Hobie dealer.
